A smattering of Nate Dogg’s peers including Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent, and Game took to Twitter to remember their fallen comrade, but one of his most prominent collaborators Eminem hasn’t spoken out until now.

“Nate’s voice in music will never be replaced,” said the Detroit rapper in a statement released to E! News. “He helped create the blueprint for West Coast hip-hop, and I was one of the lucky people who had the privilege to work with him and the honor to have him as a friend. Nate will be sorely missed. My condolences and prayers go out to his family and loved ones.”

Eminem and the G-Funk pioneer collaborated on several tracks including “Bitch Please II,” “Till I Collapse,” and “Shake That” off Em’s greatest hits album Curtain Call: The Hits. The latter was nominated for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration at the 2007 Grammy Awards.

Nate Dogg passed away on Tuesday from complications due to multiple strokes. He was 41 years old.
