where gta is heading?

hey i want to know what everyone thinks about where grand theft auto series is going. (I'm not talking about the originals for ps1)

so far the story line goes in this order:
1)Vice City
2)San Andreas
3)Liberty City Stories
4)III

and all of these games have at least one thing in common with each other concerning the story line. but we all need to know what happened before vice city and after III. I think these stories are being made to present an even bigger GTA story, that know one would have thought about, for the PS3.
that's just my opinion. anyone agree?
