PlayStation 2 Getting a Silver SKU?

Way back in April of 2005 images surfaced of a "Satin Silver PSTwo" (see above) but we haven't heard much about a release of the silver system -- until now. A tip from a 1UP.com user working in retail has Sony shipping a silver PS2 this fall, tentatively dated for October 24.

We've pinged Sony for confirmation, and we'll update here when we hear from them. For now, file this under rumor and speculation (our hunch is that Sony will file it under rumor/speculation and offer no comment), but if this is announced in the near future -- we told you so.

ummm...just one question. whats the difference except the fact that one is black and the other is silver? its not gonna do good because people are gonna be saving their money for the PS3 so its just gonna be a waste by the Sony company. propz anyway
