i read on wikipedia that the last one came out in 1998 :confusion: thats a while ago. if this description of the plot is right, then this story is different but the description doesn't really say much. is the game play kinda like a final fantasy (the only RPG i have played) where u run around accomplishing shit and getting into battles, or is it just running around doing shit without battles? it sounds ok. i dunno if i would buy it. but ive been saying i wanna buy a game to play.something that is actually hard to beat and takes a while to play cuz most of the shit any more is the same and gets boring after a while

heres the plot explanation on wikipedia:

The game is set in a post-apocalyptic world following The Great War, a nuclear war that occurred on October 23, 2077 and lasted less than two hours but caused immense damage and destruction. Before The Great War were the Resource Wars, during which the United Nations disbanded, a plague rendered the United States paranoid, and Canada was annexed.

The game takes place in 2161 in Southern California and begins in Vault 13, the protagonist's home. Vault 13's Water Chip, a computer chip responsible for the water recycling and pumping machinery, has broken. The Vault Overseer tasks the protagonist with finding a replacement. He or she is given a portable device called the "PIPBoy 2000" which keeps track of mapmaking, quest objectives, and various bookkeeping aspects. Armed with the PIPBoy 2000 and meager equipment, the protagonist is sent out into the remains of California to find another Water Chip.

If u havent played fall out then u definately missed on of the best games of year 21st century. That period to me was wen i use to play games on a regular, so those kind of games still bring me joy.

Read about Fallout tactics if u havent played it.

edit: ohh and bestest, the last game came out in 2001. It was pretty popular. But it kind of had to compete with a lot of games, coz they had Gta3, SOF, Max Payne, Red Alert, all those very impressive games at the same time.

I wasnt aware of it either, but i had a roomate a few years back that use to play that shit on his pc, i tried it and it was awesome.

Its pretty bloody for an RPG too, plus its not the same boring magic voodoo shit, its like step by step game play, u have to count shots .. etc. :smoking:

McMaybe wrote:From what i understand so far, this is going to compete with all the rpg's out, it may even be better than oblivion, although that game was fuckin awsome, its all about magic and shit, and thats getting played out ;P

I wouldnt wanna see Fallout like in first person view, coz fallout like oblivion, coz fallout out was like a strategy game, not a unicorn bash fest. How would they make it with the action steps and shit? I dont see how it can be done.
