How often do you get lost in the New Generation Games?

Was playing PS2's Exterminator on a demo & hate it with a passion. I think I got far in the demo but getting lost so many times was a big pain in the ass. I didn't think it was fun. Is it true that nowadays the games come with maps to make it easier? What do you guys do when you don't know where to go and you start getting a headache?

i got lost in the original Far Cry once.. for its time, the jungle was extremely realistic and I got turned around. Or maybe its because I was really really high... i dunno.. :unsure:

I've been playing games since I was a little kid, so I have practise. I use my instincts and pay attention to the conversations, the map and the objective.

Not really.

Especially with the internet. If I'm stuck, I'll just read a walkthrough for a bit until I don't need it anymore. It's a lot better than wasting time running around trying to figure out what to do. It's a good thing that a lot of these new games are more self-explanatory and I don't usually get confused about what I need to do.
