thoughts on nintendo

nintendo's been getting some hate on here. i can see why. i do like nintendo, i just think theyve been going down the wrong path.

honestly, the gamecube was my favorite console of its gen, but nintendo completely isolated itself from third party support and after 2006 there was even a lack of first party exclusives.

wii was no doubt nintendo's worst console. as for the wii u, i may get it next year if it picks up but right now the launch is weak. wii u still needs to convince me it has quality online support, third party support and quality exclusives.

i think nintendo CAN make a come back. but im not assuming it will.

When they waste their time on stupid 3rd party garbage in attempts to make the Wii / Wii U good for parties or whatever... it's annoyingly frustrating.

They should just focus on making games for people who like games. Not casuals.

Yup. They need to just stick to what they know. That's where they shine. Mario, Zelda, Donkey Kong...give me those games.

it was a good novelty at first, but i think nintendo realizes it was just a fad. which is why they ended the wii so soon.

People still play and buy Wii's though lol. It lasted 7 years I don't think that's "ending it soon."

really?

i figured like 75% of people bought their wii for novelty and after playing a few rounds of wii bowling, it collected dust for 6 more years.

Nah, Wii's are big with kids and older adults. They love the exercise and activities. For any modern gamer between the ages of like 12 and 30 you get them on Xbox/PS3. Wii wasn't necessarily meant to draw in hardcore gamers, but to create NEW gamers. People who never touched a controller before but they jump on WiiFit.

I actually agree with you, but I feel like the Kinect cut into their market a bit.

Are you sure about that?

I mean the wii motion controls are not perfect, but the Kinect just seems totally stupid.

All I know is I'm seeing the Kinect pop up more and more, especially with the Wii's target demographic.
