^Agreed, but

5/10: too many of the same game/popular & obvious titles. shows narrow taste in gaming, will make 10/10 list soon.

To address some points:

As for Marcus Phoenix, I thought he was a good character, but not a great one. Top 100 maybe; top 40, no. He just seems like an exaggerated cliche of a super-masculine muscular action hero. Sure, there's a little more to him than that, but still.

I never played Earthworm Jim so forgive me if he is worthy of being on the list.

For those who don't know, ViJilance's photo is of Gigyas, the antagonist of the Earthbound/Mother series. I placed him at 40, thought many American gamers don't know who he is.

When I said Elizabeth, I meant from Bioshock.

As for your criticism Vijilance, a lot of it is mainstream. I tried to find a balance between depth and memorability, familiar and new. No list will be perfect. And I made that list in like 10 or 15 minutes, so some work could definitely be done.

There are 6 characters from Mass Effect series, but to be fair the Mass Effect series was based on character development.

I'm curious as to what inclusions you thought I missed.

I wanted to put King Dedede from Kirby, however I didn't find enough room.

he's from Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3.

I thought he was brilliantly conceived, conceptualized, scripted, animated, voiced, used as a plot device and the final confrontation with him was excellent.

Marcus Fenix is a horrible character.

Aww naw you can't go that far. I think Marcus is great, first time I played the game I wasn't too fond of him but as I got more into the games I saw that there was more to him. I've also read some books and Marcus kicks ass tbfh.

Marcus Fenix isn't a horrible character but he's not great. Dom is a better character than Marcus.
