Mario Galaxy

Postby shady4life! » Nov 9th, '07, 17:40

:smoking: Ya see i was right about this game when i said it was a classic. IGN even said it is "the prettiest Wii game" and by far the best.

Here r some quotes i cutted from the review

In fact, from the start, Galaxy is the first title that really shows off what Wii can do. As Mario dodges oncoming fireballs, the landscape deforms before him, particles explode in every direction, a nearby lake reflects and refracts light, smoke billows from ruined houses, and lighting effects illuminate the foreground. All of these visual effects are complemented by some truly outstanding art and choreography.

The sheer variety between the 40-plus galaxies is astonishing

These worlds are brought to life with incredible art and a host of cutting-edge (on Wii) graphic effects to create beautifully shimmering water, planets whose cracked surfaces are geometrical and not textural and whose skins are blanketed in specular highlights and reflections. Heat distortion is commonplace in hot environments and stunning particle effects drown out every occasion.

Meanwhile, the music, much of which is fully orchestrated, is absolutely superb -- some of the best in any Nintendo game to date (though we're sure Super Smash Bros. Brawl will ultimately take top honors).

Super Mario Galaxy is one of the greatest platformers I have ever played, Wii's best game, and an absolute must-own experience.

Expect to be blown away by the fantastic level challenges and galactic variety. Expect to be blown away by the addictive gravity effects -- you will jump off ledges just to see if you can rotate all the way around a structure. And expect to be blown away by the tight controls and beautiful graphics.

enuff with all the bullshit we've all ready heard it lets cut the shit and git to the verdict :smoking:

9.5 Presentation
An unnecessary side-tale contrasts with a traditional story. Otherwise, very slick menus and production values, not to mention WiiConnect24 support and a coop mode.

9.5 Graphics
Outstanding on Wii. The first Wii title that looks like it's really pushing the console. Great art combines with great tech for stunning results. Runs in 480p and 16:9 widescreen.

10 Sound
Normally, we'd harp on the lackluster voice acting, but whatever -- the orchestrated music is so totally amazing that it obliterates any other aural shortcomings.

10 Gameplay
Mario 64 in space. Phenomenal platforming and a huge variety of galaxies to see and explore. Doesn't get any better.

9.5 Lasting Appeal
40-plus galaxies -- all vastly different and filled with unique challenges. 120 stars to collect. Plus, a two-player semi-coop mode. Send your accomplishments to friends over WiiConnect24.

9.7
Incredible OVERALL
(out of 10 / not an average)

:worship: :worship: :worship: :worship:

too bad people like Aspirine E will never appreciate great games such as these :shakehead: ...

Oh yeah and @ bar, my instinct were correct, i told u the game was a classic and when u said i should not call a game i havent played a classic i said i said it becuz it was very similar to Super Mario 64 which was a classic.
what Super Mario Galaxy is, we offer you the simplest of explanations. It is Super Mario 64 in outer space.

you still shoulding say somehting is a classic before a review or hands on play, saying its a classic in the making would have been more appropriate

but anywae, game sound awesome, defiantly goin to be getting it :y:

and im pretty sure thats the best scores any next gem game has recieved for any console, may be wrong but i aint seen one were it got everything above 9 and two 10's

and this also proves that the suck grphics on the wii is down to the third party developers and not the machine, metriod prime also has very slick and great looknig graphics, not on the standard of PS3 but still nice

i downloaded and saw plenty of movies and power ups platformin etc i had enuff information about the game to know that it wud turn out great :y:

Metroid Prime Got a 9.5 on the IGN review i think. Zelda did also, and Wario Ware Smooth Moves also got a 9... on Gamespot but i dont know wat i got on IGN but it probobly scored higher or just as high since gamespot loves to downgrade wii games.

I think this is a dawn of a new error. After seein this game and the other ones comin out this month and early next year Wii game developers will know its not the consoles fault the graphics r bad but theirs and their laziness.

Still waitin for the DBZ BT3 Review and the Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles and Soul Calibur. But so far all the games comin out recently and this month hav all been great and scored above an 8. Good job nintendo and game developers, now they r really gettin used to the system. :y: :y:

mass effect got a perfect 10 from Australia OXM (offical xbox magizine)

now it IS an xbox game and it IS an xbox magizine rating it, but i have no doubt in my mind Mass Effect will get a better score than mario galaxy or
Wii's best game

Dont get me wrong, galaxies will kick ass and i will be one of many people playing it this coming monday, but mass effect is EPIC while galaxies is just epic.

two completey different gendres of games but both excellent... the difference between them is too small to label one better than the other, its a matter of opinion. But i still think Mario is better, sales will prove it. I dont even know wat mass effect is...

Nether the less this is a must get game for any Wii owner, cant wait until it comes out NTSC

I still think Mario is better. Dont i hav a right to my own personal opinion? and besides Mario Galaxy is a lot more popular and has gotten a lot more recognition and probably has sold a lot more than Mass Effect so :tounge2:

i dont got it but i will by Tuesday. But it was rated 9.5 on Gamespot, 9.7 on IGN and 9.8 on Gametrailers so it must be pretty good, like the best platformer ever made, and was said to be the best game on the Wii. Plus i think u can also be Luigi in it, sorry u CAN be him too pretty cool huh, i know its not a big deal but it feels good playin as a different character, at times. Anyway the game is a great platformer so if u like the gendre then buy it.

And dont forget to pick up Budokai 3 on Monday when it comes out after bein poseponed for like a month

yeh i got it man, got it on release day :y:

if you like platformers (and if you like super mario 64) you couldnt ask for anymore, the reviews really do give the gameplay justice, everything you could want from a platformer :y: so if your thinking about buying it id recomend it man :y:
