i havent played it, dont plan to anytime soon, since its only good in multiplayer n i dislike games like that...but


9.0 Presentation
An impressive lineup of stages and characters, including some from third parties. Amazing soundtrack. Gorgeous cut-scenes. Simple menus. Long front-load and lacking online options.

8.5 Graphics
Looks like an enhanced version of Melee. Improved character models and backgrounds. Everything runs in 480p, 16:9 and at 60 frames. Even so, the graphics definitely lack detail in areas.

10 Sound
One of the best soundtracks ever created. Sound effects, meanwhile, are perfectly punchy and well-suited to the characters and environments.

9.5 Gameplay
Tight control, more balanced character move sets, new final smashes and more. We're not particularly fond of the single-player mode, but multiplayer is so good we just don't care.

10 Lasting Appeal
Destined to be played for years thanks to spectacular offline and online multiplayer modes. One of the great four-player games of all time.





i mean reviews can be a little over or a little under...either way its still rated as one of the best games to come out of the next gen consoles

this game could have been on gamecube

took them 4-5 years to make this bullshit?

the graphics are a lot better and the adventure mode is like 100x longer. not to mention there's a lot more events and activities to do.

so what if it took them 4-5 years? Melee was great, how is this bullshit?

Melee didn't have great ratings

and the legendary game on 64 that started it all also had mediocre ratings

and now all of a sudden this has a crazy rating, this game was over-hyped and Nintendo can make these sites give the best ratings to this game in a split-second

Melee got a 9.6 on IGN. Maybe the single player wasn't so great, but it was one of those games that you could play for the entire night when you have your friends over. I think it's also judged by how many people still play it and how many tournaments there are of it. It became a cult game, and certain characters were dissected so much that using them became a science.

I guess it boils down to opinion. I think Brawl is one of those games you can play for the entire night like Melee. It's not the same game, and it DOES feel and play differently, and I guess people expected to rock with the same characters they used before and still be able to use the same combos they had. I am guilty of this too. When I first started playing, I hated it because my Falco was completely different. But after a few hours of practice, I got the hang of it, and started getting into this new groove.

Nintendo HAD to switch it up a little, though, otherwise Brawl would've just been a pointless remake when it comes to game play and physics. And I guess that's why people were disappointed with it; because they had to relearn certain things and adjust to it, and old combos just wouldn't work anymore.

there is a hiding meaning in that saying, it is that 9 times outa 10 the original of anything is always the best.
