Found it, you gotta go to your key items, and into your Pal Pad. The code will be listed in there under your player name. For example, it'll say like, "Hadez's FRIEND CODE". Touch that, and you get the code!

Alright cool, now I'm a little skeptical on how to do this, I've never battled over WiFi before. Do I just head to the Pokémon center and go in the Pokémon WiFi Club and wait?
