Glad you were into the movie. It's truly a great work, and Depp does a very good job of portraying H.S.T. Previous attempts at the movie failed with other actors, but Depp came along and Hunter said that he was convince Depp was the only one that could accurately portray him. Johnny Depp then moved in with him, studied his habits, read over his notes from when he originally wrote the story--Depp also said that the story was indeed true, and that there were worse parts about it that hadn't been published.

Interested to see how The Rum Diaries is going to be, believe it will be released this year.

I think you're correct...

I know he was there at the actual funeral, when they loaded up HST's ashes into a cannon and rocketed him into the sky...fitting, I suppose. Hunter S. Thompson is one person I really would've liked to meet, if only such a thing had been possible.
