Harry Potter 'Book' Series

Harry Potter and the Socerer's Stone
Orphaned as a baby, Harry Potter has spent 11 awful years living with his mean aunt, uncle, and cousin Dudley. But everything changes for Harry when an owl delivers a mysterious letter inviting him to attend a school for wizards. At this special school, Harry finds friends, aerial sports, and magic in everything from classes to meals, as well as a great destiny that's been waiting for him...if Harry can survive the encounter.

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
Harry's back for his second year at Hogwarts, where the infamous Chamber of Secrets has been opened for the first time in 50 years. The monster that is unleashed is literally petrifying Hogwarts students (turning them into stone, that is), and who is the primary suspect? Harry Potter himself. Add to this some enormous spiders, a Deathday Party, a ghost named Moaning Myrtle who haunts the girls' bathroom, and lots and lots of suspense, and you'll soon find yourself engrossed in another terrific tale in which magic does exist and good eventually triumphs over evil.

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
During his third year at Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry, Harry Potter must confront the devious and dangerous wizard responsible for his parents' deaths. And learn that there's more to someone than meets they eyes.

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
Fourteen-year-old Harry Potter joins the Weasleys at the Quidditch World Cup, then enters his fourth year at Hogwarts Academy where he is mysteriously entered in an unusual contest that challenges his wizarding skills, friendships and character, amid signs that an old enemy is growing stronger.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix
In his fifth year at Hogwart's, Harry faces challenges at every turn, from the dark threat of He-Who-Must-Not-Be- Named and the unreliability of the government of the magical world to the rise of Ron Weasley as the keeper of the Gryffindor Quidditch Team. Along the way he learns about the strength of his friends, the fierceness of his enemies, and the meaning of sacrifice.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
A "grim mood" has fallen over the country. The minions of Lord Voldemort (a.k.a. He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named) continue to grow as his evil spreads. The Ministry of Magic has stepped up security everywhere, and as Harry enters his sixth year at Hogwarts, he begins to see himself -- and everyone around him -- in a different, more discerning, light. With rumors swirling about Harry being the prophesied "Chosen One," he begins taking private lessons from Hogwarts headmaster Albus Dumbledore. As Dumbledore prepares Harry for his destined clash with Voldemort by revealing jaw-dropping insights into the Dark Lord's past -- who his parents were, what happened after he left Hogwarts, and more -- Harry also struggles to uncover the identity of the Half-Blood Prince, the past owner of a potions textbook he now possesses that is filled with ingenious, potentially deadly, spells. But Harry's life is suddenly changed forever when someone close to him is heinously murdered right before his eyes....

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
As the novel begins, Harry, Ron and Hermione are on the run from Lord Voldemort, whose minions of Death Eaters have not only taken control of the Minister of Magic but have begun to systematically -- and forcibly -- change the entire culture of the magic community: Muggle-born wizards, for example, are being rounded up and questioned, and all "blood traitors" are being imprisoned. But as Voldemort and his followers ruthlessly pursue the fugitive with the lightning bolt scar on his forehead, Potter finally uncovers the jaw-dropping truth of his existence....

Harry Potter and the Deathy Hallows :worship: :worship: :worship:

I am a huuuuuuuge fan of the Harry Potter books, and I loved the last book, even though I wanted The Dark Lord to win :'(
The chapter "Deathly Hallows" when Harry thinks of DH and tries to convince Hermione and Ron that they are real, is very amazing/exciting to read.

Every book is great and I don't know what more to say. They are so amazing written and it feels like you are in the situation described in the book.
Damn, I love those books, wish we had more.

Maybe something like some books where the main character is Voldemort :o and you follow is life.

I was actually hoping myself that the "Dark Lord" would prevail, it would be what the readers weren't expecting. But it's a younger audience novel aswell, and you don't want them to think the "Great Hero" always dies or whatever. Anyways, my favorite was the 4th. The different Wizarding Schools you get to meet and the character descriptions are awesome. I loved the TriWizard Tournament and the reality check that the character's in this tournament might not walk away. It's when the "Dark Lord" finally returns and it's the beginning of all the terror and descrution and heartbreak to come. Really, it's the beginning of the end...I love all the series though, they each have their "perks". The only thing I didn't like about the books is the chapters were too lonnnnnnnnng!!!!!!! I would have to fight to stay awake to get to the next chapter, otherwise, she created a world and opened up the imaginations of readers everywhere...

Yeah, in Goblet of Fire, the chapter when Lord Voldemort gets back is very amazing!

In the 6th book, the scenes I like most are when Harry and Dumbledore takes a look at Voldemort's childhood :y:
The way he used to be as young, and now he is (was) the most powerful wizard!

Yeah, I liked how they actually gave insight into the "Vilians" background, most people leave that blank or leave you guessing or confused. However, I don't like the fifth through the seventh when all that high-school drama starts between Ron, Harry, Hermonie and all the other main characters. I know they're understress, but after reading about the same fight for 8 pages, it gets old :zipped:

The third one was my favorite because it tied everything up from the last two books so nicely. When Ron Weasely's Scabbers turned out to be Peter Pettigrew it was amazing. That and Sirius Black became one of my favorite characters, so I was pretty upset at book 5 . Book four was long and didn't hold my interest as much and I don't remember much from the 6th book. I haven't even finished the 7th yet, because I think I'm growing out of the Harry Potter phase (I have to get back to it someday).

probably Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

I'll start from saying that I love the title and the cover itself. Never judge the book by the cover, right, but I just like it [the blue one].

As for the book - it really got serious. The Order of the Phoenix, Harry's visions, the attack on Mr Weasley, finding out the truth about Neville's parents and finally - breaking into the Ministry of Magic. My absolutely favourite part was when Harry was walking along the bookcases filled with glass balls and when he found the one with his name. I was totally feeling the atmosphere and then, when the ball got broken and he heard the prophecy - wow, it was really something. The prophecy was one of the best ideas in the whole series.

Umbridge - now that was a big swing in the book. The Ministry was finally invigilating Hogwart and it stopped being a childish and cozy school for wizards and became sort of a prison with all the new regulations she'd set.

Harry, Ron and Hermione and Dumbledore's Army - at first it seemed a bit corny for me, but finally I liked it.

Besides, I liked alot of really minor things in the book like thestrals. It explained my previous concern - why did they see 'invisible' horses carrying the carriages. Luna Lovegood turned out to be a pretty cool character and she's got such an aura of mystery and weirdness around herself. Or the Weasley candies^^

In general: a very good book. I also liked the Harry/Cho part. In fact, I liked the whole 'love' part in Harry Potter series. I think it was perfectly written, with all the ups and downs, Harry screwing his first 'relationship' with Cho for example. I think Rowling did a really good job on this one, because he practically had to write about young people, their problems, concerns, feelings and the love life which is really messed up at times.

Yoshi makes so very excellent points about book five. You stated the obvious and also stated some of the lower aspects of the book, but still were highly important into the series. You've made me want to go read book five again, but I better finish the 7th first
