(Book~Part III~Spoilers~V.F.D)A Series of Unfortunate Events

Postby Ivy » Feb 7th, '09, 12:29

The Ending Is Near, Your Fate Lies In Your Hands, If You Read Any Further, I Will Have To Destroy All Knowledge of Your Existence. The Truth Is Just A Short Read Away, But The Question Is, What Is So Secret That Whoever Knows Must Quote on Quote, Disappear? Well My Friends, It's V.F.D. And It's Classified Information In The Wrong Hands Can Cause Havoc and Destruction Not Imaginable To Man~Kind. Are You Going To Become A Liability, Or Will You Close This Topic Now and Never Return To Read This Warning Again?
All throughout "The Series of Unfortunate Events" is the mysterious initials, 'V.F.D'. And Snicket tries to throw you off track by giving you many different variations of these mysterious letters. However, I will reveal what is not meant to be known to anyone, and that's all the questions and mysteries that revolve around these three letters that changed the course of three unsuspecting children, Violet, Klaus, and Sunny Baudelaire.
The Mystery Un~Masked and The Dangers Are Now Very Imaginable ~ Firstly, let me point out the obvious, it was the Baudelaire Orphan's Destiny to uncover the 'Dark' and 'Hidden Secrets' covered up by V.F.D and it's Trusted Allegiance. But here's a question for you, simple math, you get it right you move on to the next round you get it wrong, just keep reading alright?
Question: "How many Baudelaire Orphan's are there?"
Answer: Three ~ Violet Baudelaire, 14, The Inventor ~ Klaus Baudelaire, 12, The Thinker ~ Sunny Baudelaire, Infant, Culinary Chef.
Another question I might ask while I got the opportunity.
Question: "How many letters are there in the abreviation, V.F.D.?"
Answer: Three ~ The Secret Organization with the mysterious letters, V.F.D. is an abbreviation for the Volunteer Fire Department.
Is it coincidence that there are Three Orphans and Three Letters in V.F.D? I don't believe so. Their Parent's died and left them no evidence of their 'Past', but The Baudelaire's discovered something that was meant to be lost forever, in~doing~so, putting forth in motion the 'Events' that would become the rest of their lives. Along with their parent's being part of the 'Secret Organization' so were a number of their 'Guardian's entrusted in protecting the children, and an enormous number of other characters.V.F.D. was their mystery to solve, to take the puzzle pieces and glue them together, making sure that every piece is connected correctly and there's no missing pieces. They were to discover the unknown and share their knowledge and findings with the World, but they had one 'Gigantic' obstacle between them and knowing what truly happened to their parent's and why, and that obstacle was Count Olaf. Where do I begin to reveal all that has been left unknown?
The Schism ~ In the beginning, there was only one 'Group'. However, after years of serving side~by~side, a Schism ~ Controversy ~ seperated the 'Group' into two. Exactly when the Schism occured and why still remains a mystery today. The 'First Group' was dedicated to putting out fires, the 'Second Group' were the ones setting them. The members of the 'First Group' are more commonly called, "Volunteers" ,and the members that belong to the 'Second Group' or 'Latter' are given the appropriate label, "Villains". The "Volunteers" often appear to be desperate, in that their situation seems to be one of Life or Death[/u]. It is openly stated that the "Villains" possess the greater power and trade~skills of the two. The "Volunteers" are the weaker, and on the brink of destruction, however, thanks to Violet, Klaus, and Sunny the Organization survived it's spiraling downfall and has recovered with extrordinary speed. The "Villains", however, lost some of their top leaders, and now have returned to their 'former power' ~ The same set~up and all as when they first split from the originally founded V.F.D.
[b]The Sugar Bowl
~ A mysterious "Sugar Bowl" is of value to members on both sides of the 'Schism', of which it is stated to be the cause of the 'Original V.F.D.'s Split'. It also serves as a MacGuffin ~ Or a plot device which motivates characters or jump start the plot ~ to drive the story in later books. Despite it and its contents being pursued by "Volunteers", "Villains", and the "Baudelaires", its significance is never revealed and it does not appear in "The Final Book of the Series". The one hint to its true meaning is the remark, "It isn't the "Sugar Bowl" that's important, it's whats inside it". The "Sugar Bowl" is known to have belonged to Esmé Squalor ~ Count Olaf's 'Evil and Demented' Girlfriend, who thinks that Beatrice stole it from her (this instigates her hatred toward the Baudelaires). However, Snicket admits to have stolen it and states that he later ponders whether it was right to do so or not. The most popular theory of what the "Sugar Bowl" contains is "Horseradish" or seeds to the "Hybridized~Horseradish~Apple~Tree". Dewey Denouement, who the Baudelaire's" meet while staying at the "Penultimate Peril", was assumed to be the only one with knowledge of the where~abouts of the "Sugar Bowl". When he died, due to a tragic Harpoon Gun "Accident" ~ He was murdered by Count Olaf ~ the secret supposedly died with him. Although the narrative implies that the "Bowl" was removed by a Taxi Driver, who is suggested to be Lemony Snicket, "Himself".
You Didn't See Anything, Un~Published Information About V.F.D. ~

"There are some words that are best left unsaid, of course, and I"..."often spend my mornings standing on a brae, staring out at the same sea. It is not the whole story of the Baudelaire's, of course, but it is enough. Under the circumstances, it is the best for which you can hope."
Book the Thirteenth ~ "The End",
Lemony Snicket
