(Book) About A Boy

Summary:
What happens when an amazingly cool (and apparently very shallow) single man in his mid-thirties meets an un-amazingly un-cool, emotionally troubled 12 years old boy living with his weird single mother? It's surely going to be a very interesting fusion of generations and characters, especially when you add suicidal attempts, desperate chasing for women, imagined son, several attempts to finding your place in a new school and first crush, followed by series of unpredictable events.

Review:
One of my favorite books of all time. I'd watched the movie first, but I don't mind, because it was as good as the book, even thought they changed some facts.. But wait, back to the book! Nick Hornby's novel, full of humour and positive vibe (despite few rather unpleasant situations), is a must-read. Seriously. I loved how shallow and full of himself Will is. It's hilarious and some point you start to feel sorry for him. His multiple relationships, his way of spending his free time (his free time was all his life, honestly), the very special Christmas song, the made-up son.. Then comes Marcus, who's really weird and his mother is a total freak, too. And lots of funny and surprising twists of fate. I strongly recommend it for all those who look for an easy and relaxing reading.

it's beyond 'cool'. really, i watched the movie at first and then got to read the book. and seriously, as much as i believe that books are usually better than the movie, i can't tell between these two.

I'll definitely check out the movie, and if I like it I'll grab the book and read it when I find the time.

That is a very rare situation when you have to flip a quarter to decide which is better, the book or the movie. But that just shows that Directors, Screenwriters, the Production Team, the Actors/Actresses, and all the other Crew Members involved in the production of the movie had a great vision - and followed through with ease and truths to the book. :8)
