The Dark Knight

-WHERE IS SHE?! ARRRGHHH! BLARGH! INCOHERENT GROWLS COMING OUT OF MY THROAT!

Summary- In Batman Begins, Bruce Wayne decides to become Batman in order to fight crime and restore justice and peace to Gotham City. His virtues and morals are tested even further with the introduction of his nemesis: the Joker. Thriving on madness and chaos, the Joker attempts to bring anarchy to Gotham city, and to push Batman to the limits by harming everyone that is close to him.

Review-
Remember when it was first announced that Heath Ledger would be the new Joker? Everyone was thinking: “What? That gay cowboy? This movie will fail”. That mindset was kept until some pictures/trailers were leaked. Due to great viral marketing and lots of publicity, suddenly the public opinion of this movie turned a 180 and everyone began to highly anticipate it. Well, it paid off as The Dark Knight broke nearly every box office record when it was released in theaters (except for highest grossing movie, that still belongs to Titanic). With good reason too, because it’s a damn good movie. Sticking with the same formula as the previous film, Batman Begins, this movie is dark, gritty, and ground in reality. There is a great story (as far as comic book movies go), lots of action, good character development (especially Two-Face/Harvey Dent), and great acting. Yes, the actors took themselves seriously- it wasn’t just another trashy comic book movie to them, and the effort shows. In fact, all the Heath Ledger haters have now become obssessive fanboys and fangirls. Once again, this movie is absolutely amazing. I tried to think of a reason someone wouldn't want to watch it and I can't think of anything. A must watch, especially if you enjoyed the first one.

Recommendations- Recommended movies may not share similar story elements or movie techniques with the reviewed movies. They are simply personal opinions that I think will give a good indication on if you will enjoy the reviewed movie. If you want to add or want me to remove a recommendation, please reply below with the movie name and reason.

Batman Begins

Spider-Man Trilogy
X-men Trilogy

These ruined the originals for me. They've made way too many of the Batman series. I loved the original 1989 Batman all the way to Batman and Robin. But after that, they went to the extreme of it, and now it's like they're desperate to keep the legacy alive. When the true legacy lies in the Original movie with the original Joker, who by the way was killed! So why bring him back???

I loved the Tim Burton Batmans (Batman and Batman returns), but they eventually ruined the series by making it extremely campy.

Like Chet says, it's a reboot of the series, probably trying to get younger people to watch it (the original Batman was 1989...wow I feel old now :p ).

Starting with Batman Begins they rebooted the film franchise.

Hopefully that can allow you to enjoy this movie better. :8)

:'( That still don't help, I fell in love with those movies, and I just can't get into these new 'hi-tech' versions...especially Morgan Freeman being Alfred!!!

Oh, I thought someone else played him...I'm embarrassed, I'm getting movies and characters confused, that's not normally like me :sweating:

I was just checking Fandango and some news sites and the Dark Knight is back in Imax theaters in some places. If you haven't seen it, or haven't seen it in IMAX, definitely check this movie out. Some of the scenes were shot specifically in IMAX format and will give your eyes an orgasm :).

For those who are curious, the IMAX screen is taller than it is wide, but most movies are cropped since regular movie screens are wider than they are tall (hence widescreen).

i actually liked this joker better than the original joker. i hated joker always having a fixed smile wit permanent white skin, i thinks hes a lot cooler when hes just a psycho terrorist that wears make up. the one thing that made him so cool was that he was doin all that for no reason, it was just something to do lol

Well I liked this film, much more than Batman Begins. I thought Batman Begins was horrible. Due to Heath Ledger's death this film is slightly overrated but I think Heath Ledger's role for the joker was very good. He deserves the praise he's been getting. Overall this film was good, much better than it's prequel and lets hope even beeter for its sequel.
