- Despite what I look like, I have insomnia, not anemia...
Summary- An industrial worker who is also an insomniac begins to slowly lose his mind. As he begins to unravel the mysteries behind his craziness and inability to sleep, he uncovers a much more horrible truth.
Review- This is a foreign movie, in the sense that it was produced in Spain, but the language is English. It is a very eerie, but entertaining thriller. The story was interesting, and there is a pretty good twist at the end (I love twist endings). Even those people who don’t appreciate this movie have to appreciate the dedication that Christian Bale put into this film. Bale, one of my favorite actors, goes from his normal weight of about 180-ish pounds (81-ish kg) to a record breaking 63 pound (29 kg) loss at around 120-ish pounds (54-ish kg). Not only that, for his next movie (Batman Begins) he not only gains back the weight, but shoots from 130-ish pounds (59-ish) to 230-ish (104-ish kg) pounds, before realizing that 230 pounds (104 kg) was too much and settling back down to 190-ish pounds (86-ish kg). Now I know in this day and age, words mean little, so I’ll show you some pictures to illustrate my point. He goes from this (Equilibrium):

To this (The Machinist):

To finally this (Batman Begins):

or if you prefer (Batman Begins):

See what I mean? It’s just creepy watching him as a walking skeleton in this movie.
