from what im GUESSING, is they will probably make an Ultimate Alliance movie to compete with Avengers. and they think people forgot about Spiderman so they're redoing it this soon.

but i believe Toby is done, they had planned a fourth with the Lizard. and then i heard it got switched to this installment where it goes before and after the first movie.

but now peter loves gwen, not mary j. and supposedly his dad planned him to become spiderman, not that he was randomly bitten.

From what I read there is a clause in the spiderman contract and if they go longer than I think it was 7 years without putting a spiderman film out they effectively give up the rights to spiderman films and marvel get to resell it.

The last Spiderman movie was 2007 so that's irrelevant. The reason the original trilogy is done with is because the director (Sam Raimi) had issues with Sony about the 4th Spiderman and decided to not do the movie, then the cast (Toby, Kirsten) refused to participate without him.
