Who's Seen Grown Ups?

After "Don't Mess With Zohan" I really thought Sandler was going to have a rebound movie and bring us all back to the days of "Billy Madison" and "Anger Management" but "Growns Ups" was definitely not it. This movie was just a bunch of 10 minute scenes leading up to a single punchline then a scene change. It was the comedic equivalent to "The Expendables" in the sense that a cast of stars couldn't save it from sucking. When the camera first panned to Chris Rock I thought the movie would be saved and at least he would be watchable....and....to my surprise...even he couldn't produce a laugh. I've never saw such talented people struggle to be funny. Everything came off as awkward and badly timed. I didn't laugh one time until near the end when the "I'm the black guy" discussion went down on the basketball court. All copies of this should be hunted down and 451'd.

Overall Rating: .5/5 Stars; The half star is for the star studded cast, not their performance.

I watched it a couple weeks ago. It wasn't THAT bad imo but it definitely wasn't nearly as funny as people weren't making it out to be. Did feel forced, but I liked how Rock's character was abused and controlled by his wife.

I feel like it was made to be specifically against my sense of humor.

With all the main characters being played by known funny people, it should have been one of the funniest movies in a while imo. The fact that it was only slightly funny (but still a relatively decent movie) is probably why most people don't like it.

I hate it because it was shit. It was far from witty or crude humor. If I was 12 I'd probably like it.

I've actually heard some good things about it so I'll probably Netflix it when it comes out.

I agree about it for some parts. Some parts really did seem akward and badly timed or desperate. Both overall it was just an entertaining movie. The star-studded cast actually helped it a little bit.
