It was Ms. D being buried, yes.

I'm sticking with Jason as Ali's "killer". He's the only person Ms. D would cover for, and is also the son of Spenser's father. That would explain the exchange between him and Ms. D at the police station - "Do we still have an understanding". Plus, Jason was never in rehab, the place hadn't been in business for years.

Also, the cops followed the girls' car to Philly.. but they weren't in Philly. They met Noel there, and he drove them to where Ali was.. in NYC. A knew where to find them because.. well, they're A. Ezra found them because he's trying to save Ali at this point, in hopes of winning Aria back.

nah, Marlene is describing the new season as a "reset" because now with Ali and all of this new stuff happening, it could go on for a very long time. A few older characters are coming back, too.
