Best London Venues?

I'm looking for venues I should keep a look out for when performances of certain artists are on. I've been to places like Shepherds Bush and Carling Academy to see the likes of Plan B and Akala but I know there's loads of venues that host shows I'll miss out on soooo ..... which venues in london have you been to and who did ya see?
