Summary: Libby Parsons is happily married to Nick and has a wonderful son, Matty. One day while spending the night on their boat, Libby wakes up and finds Nick gone and blood all over the boat and a bloody knife. When an investigation begins, it's discovered that Nick was financially in deep trouble and had a two million dollar insurance policy. Though she claims she knew nothing about it, she was convicted and sent to prison. She entrusted Matty to her friend, Angela and it's during one of her calls to Matty that she learns that Nick is alive and double-crossed her with her best friend. And she also learns that since she's already been convicted of killing Nick, she can't be charged with the same crime twice. After six or seven years she's paroled and placed in the custody of Travis, a parole officer, and then the chase is on.
Review: This has an amazing story and draws you in from the get-go. I love how Ashley Judd really becomes her character and how Tommy Lee Jones didn't disappoint with his usuall tough as nails self. You go from a beach front community to the sparkling city of New Orleans, and it's amazing what people will do when their lives are shattered or they're desperate to get away with keeping your true past hidden. The plot thickens at the end when she finally faces her ghosts, but she must make a difficult decision, play his game or turn him into the authorities. But honestly, what the hell, you can't kill a person twice, can you???
