Let The Right One In

-People are going to see me as a Twilight rip-off...damn.

Summary-
“Oskar, a bullied 12-year old, dreams of revenge. He falls in love with Eli, a peculiar girl. She can't stand the sun or food and to come into a room she needs to be invited. Eli gives Oskar the strength to hit back but when he realizes that Eli needs to drink other peoples blood to live he's faced with a choice. How much can love forgive? Let The Right One In is a story both violent and highly romantic, set in the Stockholm suburb of Blackeberg in 1982.
Written by John Nordling, Producer”

Review- I can nearly guarantee this movie is the best 2008 movie you’ve never heard of. I can’t even think of writing a summary for this movie, because every time I try, it ends up sounding like Twilight, which is unfortunate. Now, I haven’t seen Twilight (though I originally wanted to because I’m a vampire fan), but everyone I’ve asked, even die hard fans of the novel, say it was horrible. Basically, this movie is everything Twilight could have been. Let the Right One In, is an indie (independent) Swedish film- based on a book of the same title- about the love that blossoms between a normal child and a vampire. However, don’t expect this to be a traditional horror movie. On a scale of 1-10, 1 being least scary and 10 being most, I’d rank this a 3. And I scare easy too. It’s also not a full romance, so guys don’t classify this as a chick flick. What makes this movie truly amazing is the development of the characters, how the relationship grows, and the atmosphere/lighting of the film. This movie seriously gave a breath of fresh air to the cliché vampire movies that have plagued the U.S. market. However, do be warned! This is not a traditional horror movie. Not that there isn’t violence and gore (because there are some pretty gruesome scenes), but I can almost guarantee you that you won’t be scared. However, if you left Twilight disappointed and wanting more, check out this movie. There's a good chance you will like it better.

They are simply personal opinions that I think will give a good indication on if you will enjoy the reviewed movie. I forgot to mention that they are making an American remake on this movie slated for release in 2010 I think. However, knowing how most remakes so far has been worse than the original, I highly suggest people to still watch this one.

That'll be cool. This is the only movie on this forum thus far that I haven't seen or even heard of! :o

That's why it's the first movie I reviewed :). Not a lot of people know it, but I've recommended it to all my friends, and those who watched it liked it a lot. It's probably not in theaters anymore (and it never really had a wide release to begin with) so if you're not against downloading, torrent it and watch it :sweating: .

I have over 600 burnt dvds, I don't think one more to collection can hurt anything...
