Summary
There's only two things to a cop, their gun and their badge. Fisher is about to realize he's going to have the worst day of his life. A nearly untraceable internationally-known terrorist named Miles Jackson ~ intent on avenging the death of his love ~ escapes from a maxium security prison, and has kidnapped Danny's girlfriend Molly Porter and forced him into "12 Rounds" of dangerous games carefully plotted throughout the streets of New Orleans. Danny struggles to keep focus while the obvious ticking clocks and crude consequences that accompany each one of these "rounds" do their best to derail him from rescuing the love of his life before it's too late.
From WWE to the Big Screen
John Cena, who plays Detective Danny Fisher, is most notably known for being a buffed up, steroid taking, wrestler. But he's trying to erase that image and make a new name for himself in the 'Movie-Making-Business'. He's starred in two other movies, playing minor rolls in both, and then jumps into his third film with a leading roll. I guess the saying 'Third times the Charm' really can be said for Cena.
Why This Is Posted In Advanced
I went and saw 'Taken' tonight, and while watching the Previews, this yet-to-be-released action-packed-thriller caught my attention with just the opening lines of the trailer. It looks to be an emotional train-ride, testing wits, loyalties, and how far someone will go to avenge the death of a loved one.
Theatrical Trailer ~ Words can't really sum up what the plot is truly about, so have a look at the trailer...
