Pans Labyrinth

Summary:
It's Spain 1944, the stepdaughter of an sadistic army officer escapes into an eerie fantasy world. In the night, she meets a fairy which takes her to faun in the labyrinth. After telling her that she is a princess, he fills her in on the three tasks that she has to fulfil to prove her royalty. If she fails, she will never be princess, and never see her real father - the king - again.

Review:
This is one of my favourites, although it's a pretty long movie. But I warn you all now, yes, it's a Spanish film, so yes, it has subtitles. But to be honest, if it was in English, it wouldn't have that dark, fairytale affect that the Spanish put in it. I really don't think it would be as good. The three tasks she has to do perform are exciting, and the tension in the movie makes it an excellant watch. I recommend it.

Although, I didn't like this movie too much (I don't know why), it's definitely creative and the dark fantasy aspects are amazing. I'd definitely recommend it to people who want to see something new.

I like the accent they used. Well, the language.

I mean, it's a good movie indeed. But it's lame because it is M18 and the story is a fairytale.

M18 I'm assuming is mature 18? So that's sort of a rated "R" in the US right? If that's case I'm not surprised. It's a fairytale, but it's also based around a war and there's torture and stuff so I can't see how they could have gotten away with a PG-13. Plus it's nice to see some mature fantasy stuff for once :sweating:.

I never thought this film was that great. I just thought it was weird really but as I watched it once again I realised that this is quite distinct to a lot of films. I ended up really liking this film.

Btw, is there a dubbed version of this in English?
