I know the original Disney movie seemed so full of drug references that I felt uncomfortable watching it...

Damn, I dont think ive ever run into somebody who didnt know what alice in wonderland was. If you want a good read, pick up the original alice and wonderland, and through the looking glass....the real original...its kinda crazy. like dude said, lot of drug references. Its one of things that kids could enjoy, but if your an adult your like hmmmmmmmmm....

Watch it under the influence of something illegal.

You might find it to be of religious proportions. :y:

llockhart86 wrote:Yeah, but that movie took everything straight from the book, which was full of drug references as well.

And you could say the same about this movie, but I think it just lost some of its "creepy"...

and coming from the guy with fear and loathing avatar, why would drug references make you uncomfortable?

Yeah, I caught the irony there too.

It's just the fact that it's a children's movie. Obviously, most kids aren't going to get to watch Fear & Loathing...or at least I would hope not.

Just something about children's movies that have strange references like that. Just makes me feel strange...

But not nearly as strange as all that mescaline does when I'm watching them. Oh, snap!

The man that wrote the book was an odd one, from what I recall.

The movie was alright. I think if your gunna watch it to get the full effect, you should watch it imax 3d style. I went 3d last night for the first time ever and that shit is right :y: I thought it was gunna be them red and blue crappy glasses - but apparently i still live in the 90's  , Nah it was some shades and the shit just popped out, looks way better then reg. movies.

And like he said...if you get down with acid...watch it on that...or some other kind of psych.

As for the drug references...I kid probably isnt going to pick up on them. Ive seen that sorta thing with kid movies soo many times, they put small little adult references throughout the film that a kid isnt going to pick up on, but an adult will be like "what?"

Shrek did it a lot

Yeah, I feel where you're coming from.

Shrek is notorious for that shit. Bunch of Medieval high school kids coming out of the carriage laughing, while bubbles (right? yeah, I think so) come floating up out. As if they were hot boxing it. :shakehead:

Funny shit though.

On the note of the mushroom.

The Red and White ones...Amanita Muscaria...anyone have any experience with them? They're listed as poisonous by some sources, but I assure you, once dried, they're edible.
