So, City are the obvious favorites to win the title (damn, feels good to be the underdog) and Man United are widely considered as their closest competition. After that it gets tricky. So my question is 3 pronged-

Just how good is Spurs?
Where do ya'll think Newcastle will end up come end of season?
Which 4 teams will make it to the CL?

Watched the game for Spurs and Aston Villa, Alex really needs to be more positive than that if he is to avoid a relegation battle especially considering his coming games to Swansea, Bolton and Stoke away and Man United, Liverpool and City at home. That said, Spurs looks great with Scott Parker and Adebayor looking like inspired signings.

Lmao yep. We're in an awful position right now. We need to turn it around during the Christmas period. In January we need to also remind City that they're not the only ones who can spend. Seriously, we need to spend quite a bit to get rid of the rust. Another investment is needed to keep up with City imo.

Are Chelsea just ignoring the Financial Fair play rules?

You spent £75 million last January...

Haha! 2-1!

Cavani! Cavani! :y: He's been linked with Chelsea, but I doubt the move would happen. £35m market value?

It's in Napoli's hands now to qualify which is more than they could have asked for tbh. What a result that is for them.

the only scenario I fear is that Villareal have nothing to play for and might actually pull something against Napoli in the last round, same with Bayern who have clinched their qualification, and City will be playing full-strength like the world's faith depends on it.... so it ain't over, but the advantage sure is in Napoli's hands

Yep, no doubt. But it is in Napoli's hands and they have everything to play for. Let's hope they clinch it. :y:

Damn, out the Champions League....

Still, 5 points clear of United and about 12 clear of Chelsea/Liverpool/Arsenal. Can't complain.

Play the kids in Europe, concentrate on the League. Boom.

I'm really looking forward to the game tomorrow, but I will not be surprised if we lose. That defence needs sorting out, stop brushing it off AVB.

Damn, now United could finish second and face Barcelona/ Real / Madrid.... real scary i'd say. The worst part is people will still think that Cleverly will solve all our problems at Christmas, smfh

Nwae, Napoli, thank you :8)

I'd rather us face Real or Barca early and get knocked out,so we can focus on the league. than getting to another final only to get outclass again.

with that said,Feb is still a long time, you never know what will happen, our form may improve significantly, and most of these inform teams form could dip.
The strongest possible team w'll face if we do finish 2rd(which is still to be confirmed) is Inter,Real,Bayern and Barca. in a two legged tie,an inform Utd can knock any of those teams out.

and on Man City

normally I should be happy City lost, but I kind of want them to progress out of the group,at least to the QF to distract them from the league a bit...

Can't wait for the game tonight. I just want Boas to start Torres and Meireles instead of bringing them on in the second half. I wonder if Luiz will start?

Edit:

Oh nope, he's gone with Drogba. He needs to give Torres match time. :coffee: At least Meireles is starting.
