Hit in the face? C'mon son, we all know Mata would have gone down if it was anything major. Would he have kicked him like that if he wanted to hurt him? Yaya could wipe the floor with Mata. If anything, it was a mark of respect.

Nothing will be done to Yaya, no way.

It doesn't matter if Mata falls to the ground or not. Same with the little kick on his leg before that. It's not allowed. You think you should be able to do anything as long as the other player doesn't get hurt? lol Gervinho got sent off for barely touching Joe Barton's face and Alex Song was banned for 3 games as a result of the FA looking at a situation later on.

We'll see if anything will be done to Yaya. I truley hope so. He shouln't get some special treatment. But judging by FA's earlier faceplam worthy in-actions I wouldn't be surprised if that's the case.

The face shove, ok maybe a yellow card just because it's a bit stupid.

The little gentle toe poke? Nahh...football is a fucking joke if that's a red card offence. Clearly no harm done, clearly no harm intended. At the most, playful and a bit daft.

The Gervinho red card was stupid too. Barton made far too much of it and the ref obliged. The ref should take each offence on it's merits, not the overblown reaction of the opposing player.

:o

Although I highly doubt that article is true. Even though it's nothing to him, would Roman really want to sell Torres at a £30m loss? Even AVB said he still backs him. AVB just needs to give him games to regain form. I wish he didn't get sent off at Swansea, he really was getting back to his old self.

I never said anything about Yaya's little toe poke. That's nothing for me. I'm talking about Yaya's hand and Kompany's tackle on Mata just outside the box. He should've been sent off after that 'cause that's a yellow card 7 days a week.

It's really funny how people still check their news tbh.

Facebook mate. I didn't say I credit goal as a good source. I don't even check the website lol.

Fair enough. :y:

I would hate it if that article held any truth to it though. I still think that lethal Torres is still in there somewhere. He needs games, it's as simple as that. Wigan this Saturday should be a good opportunity for him to step up.

FreeDoom wrote:I just think it is Chelsea tbh, He does not really fit how we normally play. Liverpool and Chelsea are 2 very different styles. It also does not help that the few brief appearances he has made are when players that can aid him are coming off, Mata & Sturridge being big examples to this. It is mainly a question of either 2 things.

1)Is the new system we are building toward going to be right for Torres?

Or

2)Can Torres adapt to a new style.

Personally I think hope only lies in the first question as it would be wrong to build a new style over one player and also wrong to expect him to waste his talent and change his style to try fit a system that is not his best. So we need to hope what we are building towards is a natural fit and not to be accommodating just him.

I agree.

I do think we need a new centre forward though. When Drogba's off to the African Cup of Nations all we really have is Torres and Lukaku. I defend Torres constantly but if he can't find form, we need someone else. We need to buy a right back or a CB in Jan. Either put Ivanovic in RB and buy a CB, or do the opposite.

Yeah. Let him start over Luiz and put Ivanovic in RB. That would be a solid defence.

Do you think we'll sign a striker? I can see us going for one, but who is the question..

Yeah I get what you mean.

Sturridge has been phenomenal thus far this season out wide. I know his natural position is a CF but his ability to go past fullbacks in that position is fantastic. Who has been able to handle him this season? That's exactly what he did against City which got us the equalising goal.

I have to agree about Mata. He is one of the best signings by an English club this season. He adapted pretty much instantly to this league and he was the creative link we were missing. I still can't believe how some people think he's not near to Silva's level. :confusion:

Malouda and Kalou, we can sell them on for all I can. More so the latter. Malouda isn't too bad out wide though.

If we leave Sturridge out wide (which I think currently is the best thing for us), that leaves Lukaku and Torres should Drogba leave. Don't get me wrong, Lukaku is a huge talent, but can we really count on him to step up when we need it the most? Torres.. well I think we should give him a run of games to see if he can get that form back before the Swansea sending off. If he can't, who does that leave? Kalou?

Unless Torres gets back to an acceptable level of form, who else do we really have? I think we need to bring in another striker. I know a winger would free Sturridge to play the CF role, but like I said, I think he's been too good there this season to move.
