And I know the classico is a great match, but for everyone to talk about months prior on facebook, statuses every goddamn second, and everyone talking bout, to only seeing few people talk about a Chelsea vs Utd game or sth, it's just feels weird

I think Chelsea v Utd is a different game now than it was 3 years ago..

Madrid Barca is probably the 2 best teams in the world, so I can understand it.

^ That's at that children's hospital isn't it? Fair play to him. The whole Chelsea team really do make an effort when they visit there every year, good on them. :y:

Atletico ftw. They'd be the ones I support in Spain. Mainly because they've got our Courtois and they have Falcao.

Just imagine if Villa, Matta and Silva were on the same team...wooh that's gonna be heavy + Banega who's got a great personality is somewhat like Alonso (same way of playing, not better of course)

And Atletico: De Gea, Aguero and so on...!

Yeah but at the end of the day, when teams like Utd, City, Chelsea and Barca pop along it's hard to hold onto your star players. Not only would they want to compete for the trophies, but their wages will probably be doubled too. I'm wondering how long Atletico will hold onto Falcao for. Then again they paid big, big money for him. Darn Porto.

They played 2 games in 2009, all chelsea did was defending with 9 players and won none. Now ballack's gone, cech, terry, essien, lampard, drogba have all fell off. what am I missing?

How can you say Essien has "feel off" when the bloke's injured?

Oh, and you're missing Romeu, Mata, Meireles and Sturridge. Not to say we'd beat Barca in our current form because I personally don't think we could. But you're still making silly accusations by saying all of those players have fallen off. On top of that, you fail to acknowledge some of the quality Chelsea have. So yes, you are missing things.

Some of them have fallen off, but players like Lampard I don't consider to have fallen off. He may not be as good as he was, but by no means has he fallen off. 8 goals in 17 games is not a trait for a fallen off attacking midfielder.

All I'm saying is that the idea of chelsea being one of the few teams capable of making a close game against barcelona is laughable, because firstly there isn't any recent match to base that on and secondly Chelsea is a lot worse now than they were in 2009. Off the players you listed, Sturridge is the only one good enough to make a difference.

That's exactly what i meant with "falling off", none of them are near as good as they once were. The whole defense is weak now.

Sturridge is the only one good enough to make a difference? What about Mata? Meireles? More so Mata but Meireles is a still a creative player who can make a difference in a game. How about Ramires? Cole?

The thing is, you're suggesting Lampard is a shadow of his former self, that's not true. I agree he's not as good as he once was, but that does not mean he's feel off. I consider a player who falls off to be completely useless in comparison to their prime. That's not the case with Lampard. The same goes for Cech, he's pulled off some blinding saves and is still a top class keeper. Admittedly he sometimes suffers physiologically because of his previous injuries, but at his current best, he's still top notch.

And tbh, I don't think a Chelsea vs Barcelona game would be as one sided as you think. Even if it is the current Chelsea. We're still a very strong side at our best. Not to say we'd win, but I don't think they'd completely wipe the floor with us (at our current best ofc).

United got dominated twice by Barca.

Chelsea are miles behind United.

I don't see this argument really. Barca would run rings round Chelsea, and City, and United.

^ Chelsea are a team who have always been able to put a fight up against Barcelona. We've never really gave them an easy ride. Possibly the only English team who can say that tbh.

Oh and Merry Christmas lads! Have a good one! :b:

Our team vs Fulham:

1 Petr Cech
17 Jose Bosingwa
4 David Luiz
26 John Terry (c)
3 Ashley Cole
16 Raul Meireles
6 Oriol Romeu
8 Frank Lampard
23 Daniel Sturridge
9 Fernando Torres
10 Juan Mata

Great team. It's a shame that Ivan is injured because playing him at RB would have been our best defensive lineup. Nice to see Torres finally getting a start - let's hope we can actually keep himself there now. Romeu and Meireles both start which I'm happy about! Nice to see Luiz back, even though he's a liability. He's not a bad defender when he doesn't make rash decisions.

Btw, apparently the Cahill deal is pretty much done and dusted.

Roll on the game!

Okay I usually rate Fox Soccer quite high when I watch their streams, but I can't believe what I just heard. He was naming the Chelsea line-up, got to Romeu and said "the young Frenchmen". :confusion: Not to mention he just said there's talk that Torres could get transfer listed in January when AVB said he's not available at any price. Lmao.

They are always making cock up's lmao. I remember a game they kept saying Mikel everytime Ramirez had the ball. Mikel was not even on the bench or the pitch. Was weird.

Lmfao, that's unreal.. they're nothing alike. Some of their pundits I've seen are pretty good though.
