The problem is that is played out of position as he is crap alone on top. The only reason United play with only Rooney up front in the big games is because they have fuck all central midfield apart from Fletcher. Well, Giggs is still doing a great job and Scholes is definitely still worth having in the squad but none of them can play week in week out and they tend to look stupid when they're playing teams with strong midfields (especially Scholes!). So... if the central midfield wasn't so weak they wouldn't need a 5-man-midfield and could therefore play two upfront.
As for Gary Neville... people are just jumping the bandwagon and try to make themselves feel better by slaughtering a guy who has done a great job this season. Remember the guy is normally only third choice at the right back. Not many clubs have a better third choice right back... "He is sooo slow" personally havn't seen him getting the turn around this season.
The guy is a legend at the club, let alone the fact that he is the captain, but still United fans are booing him and Berbatov at games. I'm sometimes ashamed to admit that I've supported United since I was 6 years old.
You took my recomendation and joined then? Good man.
Well, I'm not a Man U fan so I'm not really gunna make a judgement on that to be honest. I still don't think your squad is strong enough though. If Rooney's out you really have no-one else up front to partner someone like Berbatov, who, you're right, needs someone to support him so he can show of his touches.
I mean, Owen's always injured, and the rest of your strikers are too young to really be able to start massive Prem games.
You were right, it is a decent website

You're a Newcastle fan?
Rooney is definitely the talisman and has been it for seasons now (more or less). Many people think he is only good at working hard and scoring goals but the lad is the best passer the club has had since Scholes made his entry. Doing some defensive work too if he loses the ball.
There is too many young players up front. Welbeck has a good chance of making it at the club. Not only is he really very talented but he also has the right attitude, unlike Macheda who's always trying to impress by doing simple things the hard way. That Diouf guy hasn't played 90 minutes yet so it isn't fair to judge him. They signed some young mexican a couple a days ago whom I've never heard of. I know it's possible to get them out on loan but the best way to develop players is to play them in your own team.
Michael Owen did ok untill his injury. It's pretty amazing to see how he always finds space among the opponents defenders.
van der Sar recently signed a new deal so we're not in a hurry for a new goal keeper. In my opinion it is only the central midfield we need to strenghten. Get rid of Gibson and Carrick and sign maybe Rodwell and Modric (I'm aware that this sounds like football manager hehe). Tom Cleverley is getting back from loan at Watford, a guy Ferguson seems to rate a lot.
