I think Capello will be the scapegoat, putting Rooney in a position he doesn't feel comfortable with. Kinda drags down a player's motivation.

the way Rooney played in qualify in a similar position with the same strike partner, I dont think its that. I believe that theres too much talk of him having to tone down his temperant after the yellow card in the practice match and that tackle in the Japan friendly. Capello said he'll speak to him to make sure he doesnt get sent off.

That's part of his game - without that he seemed to cautious, almost scared to really get stuck in - so unlike him.

If a World cup can't motivate you, nothing can.

He played as a number 10 quite alot in his first seasons at United and did quite well.

That might be it, yeah, he seemed too afraid to even engage in a dual or anything. Plus when a chance popped up he didn't even feel the urge to attack full, as if he was afraid of the ball.

A pitty, though. Because the Americans are strong in duals, Rooney's temper would've been a valuable asset in today' s match.

Ridiculous, idiotic, and simple minded statement, I suppose Zindane, the origonal Ronaldo and Maldini (3 best players of the past 20 years) are overrated because they never played in the Premiership?
La Liga, team for team and footballing wise, is the best league in the world

"Which he prob wont ever try to protect his status" why would he leave one of THE best attacking teams of all time and the best team in football at the moment to play in the Premiership?

I agree somewhat with Killa.I think Messi is fantastic but the way people fap over his every step is quite annoying.i think he has a long way to go to become anywhere near as good as maradona.Great player tho :y:

I love the WC but there's not been one decent match so far. Maybe the opener, that's about it.
