Cracking goal. His still got it. I remember playing him with Juventus on Fifa 96. He reminds me of the Ryan Giggs of Italy, 1 club, 20+ years, and still playing.

Alex completes £4.2m move from Chelsea to Paris Saint-Germain

I've always liked Alex and it's sad to see him leave.

I still think the positives outweigh him leaving though. Firstly he's 29, how much longer could he stay competitive in Chelsea? We have Luiz (24) and Cahill (26). They still have a lot of playing time ahead of them and they are both solid central defenders. Luiz proved himself to me against Norwich - when he's focused he is a top defender. His technique is awesome too.

Not to mention Alex is now off our wage bill. He must have been getting a tidy amount for QPR to completely reject him.

Now.. let's complete that signing of Willian. He's already expressed his intentions to join Chelsea, and we know we have been bidding for him. Apparently we wouldn't have to activate his release clause of £29m to sign him thanks to Roman's connections with Shakhtar's owner.

Willian on the left, Mata playing a central role just behind Torres.. :flutter:

I kinda understand why younger people (and people who don't follow football much) would place Messi over Ronaldo. His individual skills are more evident than Ronaldo's atm. Ronaldo, like you said, has matured and became a team player while still showcasing his skills.

Ronaldo is 27 now and Messi is 24, people often forget that age difference. Back when Ronaldo signed with MU, he literally humiliated those whom their fans called "best defenders" in the world.

To still run as fast and play as good as Ronaldo at this age is a bit difficult (not saying impossible), especially for Brazilian, Portuguese players. Look at some of the best Brazilian players for example, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho and Revaldo...They all lost their touch at that age or a year after. Yes, they're still skilled, but not like before.

Messi is far superior to Ronaldo, c'mon son. He'll go down in history as arguably the best ever.

He does things with the ball Ronaldo can only dream, and he's been doing it consistently for years. He's won far more trophies, and will win many more.

He's also not a cunt, which helps his case.

Liverpool 2-1 United.

I never tire of watching them lose

QPR 0-1 Chelsea, Karma is a bitch BABY!!! Mata Penalty, boring game all around though

GET IN KUYT!!! Liverpool 2-1 Manchester United, they Dominated them, De Gea's so gay on both goals LOL!!!

Hope Madrid wins and Barca drop points tonight

when's the 5th Round Draw?

I think we have a very real chance of winning it.

AVB's comments in the pre-match conference were very interesting though.

"I think our project next year is more important than the actual project at the moment. Not that Willian doesn't have the characteristics for the future but we are betting a lot on what we can build on for next year."

"Kevin is a player that is not within my immediate projects.

This confirms a few things in my opinion:
1) His job is completely safe despite what happens this season (I'm sure not qualifying for the CL would have Roman pissed though)
2) Him and Roman are working to build a team for the future. I think AVB has said this before that him and "the owner" share the same opinion on rebuilding the team.
3) He will get the money he needs to rebuild the squad. Before FFP is mentioned, of course it will be done in moderation.
4) Expect a lot of players coming in and out in the summer.

Today's game was okay. Nothing amazing from Chelsea. I woke up at like 12:20 so I missed the first 20 minutes. Mata had a moment of pure magic - just proves we need him just behind Torres. We completely dominated QPR in their own backyard though.

Roll on the draw!

That was god awful. Cannot wait until DoubleDemba are back next week. Could do with Tiote as well. Our defence was actaully okay, just had fuck all in the final 3rd. Without Ba we look toothless. Pardew's subs were again completely pointless.

Another trophy-less year. Brilliant.

And fuck the moronic Liverpool fans booing Evra. That club is a complete joke. Bindipping bastards. Never have I wanted Man United to win a match so much.

Lmao, I bet only the Brits get that reference.

But I do agree, booing Evra is ridiculous. He was subject to racial abuse, booing him for speaking out makes you just as bad as Suarez.

@Revolutionary Most of the people who knows about football agree that from 27 to 30 years old is the ideal age for a football player, because your skills are almost the same as when you were young and you are more mature and intelligent. Some of the best examples for this are: Maradona, Zidane, Figo.

And what have Brazilian players got to do with anything?

@Menzo In what sense is messi weak? sure he isn't the physical machine ronaldo is, but to call him "weak as fuck" is too much. Ronaldo has matured, but he still acts like a whiny bitch every now and then and he's nowhere near the team player messi is.

About what messi did to the real madrid fans that time, Im not gonna say what he did was right, he should have been sent off. But, if you ask me, it was just a normal reaction for someone when things don't go their way. And if you lost all the respect you had for him just because of that then you must not have respect for most of the players in the world.

If Chelsea fans had booed Ferdinand it would of been everywhere today. The media love-in with Liverpool frankly makes me sick. A few Chelsea "fans" are racist on a train and it makes papers and news sites (I am not defending racists I agree they should be dealt with) but Liverpool fans boo Evra for being the victim of Racism? It is nowhere to be seen. LMFAO, how blindly in love with Liverpool and "king kenny" are the media going to be? Sickens me.

Hang on, they did point out that liverpool fan making monkey chants, and he's now been arrested.

Also, chanting Anton what's the score is just ridiculous. John Terry is a horrible racist, dunno what Ferdinand is supposed to have done..?

Menzo wrote:Messi is weak physically, that's no doubt. He's a midget and it's only natural, granted he is tough for his stature.

I disagree, he may not make a difference with his physique but he's not weak at all.

Menzo wrote:Every player acts like a whiny bitch "every now and then" including the entire Barcelona squad when a call doesn't go their way.

The entire barcelona squad except for Messi, he rarely even speaks to the ref and you'll never see him yell at a teammate for a bad pass or some shit like that

Menxo wrote:And when the fuck did I suggest Ronaldo was more of a team player than Messi? Regardless if that is true or not, that wasn't what the discussion was about.

Well you said Ronaldo is more matured now, I interpreted it as in he's less selfish and individualistic. And since the beginning of the discussion was about who the better player is I pointed out that while ronaldo may have improved in the team play department he's still far behind messi.

Menzo wrote:And I never said I lost all my fuckin respect :facepalm

I know, your exact words were "my respect for Messi stooped lower than his height" which is also an overstatement.

Revolutionary wrote:For goalkeepers, defenders, midfielder and even forwarders yeah. But Ronaldo is a wing, he runs a lot and has to have the ability to go through defenders quickly.

And I brought the Brazilian and Portuguese players as an example, we all know that players that come from these two countries have shorter professional lives than others. Maybe you'll bring 1, 2 or 3 examples but that doesn't count for the majority.

But you gotta admit that ronaldo is at his peak, while messi still has room for improvement.

Plus, there was only brazilian players in your examples.

Unless you never make any mistakes, it does

Menzo wrote:Yes, I said Ronaldo is more mature than he used to be. You interpreted it incorrectly, so until I suggest he's a better team player, there is virtually no point in trying to use that against me.

Well then, explain yourself, in what aspect has ronaldo shown more maturity?

Menzo wrote:An overstatement? That's the dumbest thing I've heard. OH! I'm sorry! I didn't realize YOU determined MY opinion of people. I sure hope you don't determine mine on you.

I'm just tryna make you realize how fuckin ridiculous that shit sounds.

OH! you just :facepalm 'd me, now my respect for you has stooped lower than your knowledge about the game.
