Potentially another Chelsea-Barcelona classic! Let's just hope Barca have 11 players as opposed to 12 this time.

Chelsea will struggle against Benfica and clearly will lose to Barca.

Lool. It's been an awful season for Chelsea standards but looks who's still in the Champions League.

It could be worse though. Imagine if we were knocked out in the group stage then fell to Sporting in the Europa League. Now that would be embarrassing.

I'd love that.

Slight false sense of security tbh. One good game against a team who are not real contenders for the cup.

Still a horror season. Unless we pull something out of the hat and beat barca and madrid

Hmmm maybe I'm wrong and Torres will score the winner in the final

Wait, are you a Chelsea fan? If so, I assume you meant let's hope we're not completely useless?

It's not a false sense of security either, far from it. That performance against Napoli was our best performance of the season. If we keep that up, there's no reason why we can't go on and save our season. We should get past Benfica and obviously, the Barcelona (or Milan) game will be extremely difficult. Am I expecting us to win that? No. Will I be bothered if we lose? Not really, but I'll be proud of our lads anyway.

Don't discredit our performance against Napoli either. They're one of the best counter-attacking teams in Europe. Lavezzi, Hamsik and Cavani are all top players.

Put it this way. If we finish 4th in the league, win the FA Cup and get into the semi-finals of the CL, explain to me how City would have had the better season? Because they had a better league run which finished in no trophies? (providing they fail to win the league, of course..)

Yup, no doubt. I'm not expecting it all to pane out that way, but I'd be very happy if it does.

Yes I am. Have been my whole life.
Yes true, if we win the FA cup and get 4th it would be better than Man city getting second. But Man City shouldn't be pleased with second, that should be a dissapointment.

what I meant with the false sense of achievement was - it should be expected to beat teams like Napoli and Benfica not OMGZ we are doing amazing cos we're still in the CL.

But I think you can agree that we had higher standards at the start of the season than winning the bloody fa cup. We aren't fucking Bolton.

So I think winning the fa cup, whilst saving face a little bit, is still a slightly disappointing season for Chelsea  I dunno lol

and fuck. Thats only if we scrape 4th

It's a transitional season at the end of the day. I expect to see a lot of activity in the summer transfer window. I think we'll scrape 4th, we just need to press on and get the results. Arsenal and Tottenham will start to lose points and we need to make sure we are there taking advantage of it.

To be honest, beating Napoli was a great achievement. We overturned a 2 goal deficit and put in a great performance.

I also agree about City. Second place with no trophies shouldn't be acceptable. I don't think Mancini is a bad manager but City should be doing better, especially with the squad they have. At the very least they should still be in the Europa League.

Was going to respond but I'll leave it for another time. It's not important.

Fingers crossed for Muamba. Gutting news.
