lmao he was truly shit wern't he, i was thinking the same with rooney, last match.

Don't know what you were watching, but i thought he was great.

His contribution isn't like Rooneys or Gerrards, he makes space for the others, intimidates the opposition, provides a target man, and can link up play. The goal thing is pure confidence, but fortunately he's searching for one in a free scoring and creative team, so it'll come. Funny how people were quick to jump on the big mans back, but no one commented on how Defoe did next to fuck all when he came on after the hype around him.

i know he does all that, but in front of goal last night, he was shit, he missed easy chances. lots of them. we could've won by 4 more goals had he put away his EASY chances. and as for the defoe thing, croatia had stepped their game up by the time he came on, also .. we started to play a bit badly after he came on too, we went down a notch .. after conceding that goal. defoe has been great last few games, so one game without scoring isn't too bad, when was the last time heskey scored for us .. ?

Heskey's been great for us in the last few games, he's the only person that allows Rooney to really open up and rip the shit out of defences. It's ok saying, "he's scoring goals", but you've got to think about the factors of a team, not just who is popping them in. At the moment, we have a versitile guy up front who's making the team work very well, and a guy we can bring on who can run at tired defences and maybe get the odd goal.

i went to the game on weds, was fuckin awesome

heskey didnt have his best game and yeah defoe would of put away atleast one of da chances he had but he still contributes a lot to the team......i dont fink u realise until you go to one of da games, but his presence in the air creates space and chances for others, and he does still bang in the occasional goal, lol

but we now got a lot of friendlies between now and the world cup to sort out whats the best 11 to pick so form at the moment is almost irrelevant...

peter can do what heskey does, only he's taller, can finish better, is a lot better with his head, has a better first touch and can do overhead kicks
