People seem to randomly forget about Arsenal's consistent appearance in the competition for about 8 years now  Its not just one or two star signings (Adam and Suarez) or bringing in overrated British talent (Carrol and Downing) that makes you win games. Its about getting down to the job and winning enough and necessary points to proceed. With their 5 new signings as well they have a better chance.

Well it's nice to consistently be in the European Cup, but the fact is we have not won one single little trophy in 6 years - and i'd bet my life that after this season it will become 7 years. We have won 2 out of our last 14 Premiership matches - that's relegation form. What's more, we've just suffered our biggest defeat in over a century. We've replaced Fabregas and Nasri with Arteta and Benayoun... that is not anything other than a decline in quality. We have perhaps 2 players that would find their way into the current Manchester United team (RVP and Wilshere). We are stuck with a board who only care about making money from the club and we are stuck with a manager who is way past is best and way too stubborn to change and adapt to the modern game, but the board will never replace him because he is filling their pockets deeper every year. The club is in an absolute state right now.

I'm really looking forward to this game. Time to see how the new signings affect the squad. I'm really hoping this will bring out the best in Torres. He's such a talent but just hasn't found any form as of late. He's playing better than he did for us last season, but he needs that goal this season to give him a confidence boost.

After this, we've got Leverkusen! Can't wait.. love it! :8)

Hopefully Torres can score some goals so he can get back on his form and shut the critics up a bit

I really hope he nets one. Just to give him that added confidence. I actually think Torres will score today. Mata's a very creative player and I can see him feeding Torres through a few times. I haven't seen much of Meireles but Villas seems to be confident in him adding some extra creativity to the squad so I trust his judgement.

Chelsea!

Torres is on the bench. Let's hope he comes on after half time at the latest. Luiz is also on the bench. Mata and Meireles make their first league start for us! Cech is also back. :y:

Full team here.

2-1. Solid game, just unlucky that Sunderland got a goal right at the end.

The commentators were saying that we're playing much better and you could not write off our chances for the league. Totally agree. We played well and can only improve in the upcoming weeks.

We absolutely dominated again, should have been 8-0.

It's a 2 horse race for the title, tbh.

The Premiership title is going to Manchester, but I don't know which club...

"LOL at Chelsea"?

For dominating the game? Playing fluid football? Being better than they have been all season?

Sunderland's goal was in the last few minutes because of a lapse of concentration. That does not change the fact that we completely dominated that game and played well. That's all the matters.

Your manager is younger than most of your players, Chelsea won't win anything this season, stop getting excited.

"excited"? I'm optimistic about Chelsea chances because they have been improving each and every game. With the new additions, they have only helped improve Chelsea's game. That evident if you were to watch the matches.

I'm guessing you didn't even watch the Chelsea game? Even the commentators were explaining how you can't write Chelsea off.

You cannot write Chelsea off because there have only been 4 games and Chelsea have not peaked. City and United are playing as well as they will all season tbh, we are playing out of our skin right now.

Aguero, Silva, Nasri, Tevez, Dzeko, Yaya

That front line is the best in world football.

I fancy Chelsea to take points off United this season.
