I'm looking forward to the game tonight against Genk. It should be a comfortable win, hopefully we net a few! Come on Chelsea!!

An absolute quality performance from the lads thus far. This is Chelsea near full gear, what a team we can be! Torres, my word is he sharp today. Meireles, you know what, I think he's fitted into Chelsea better than Modric would have. The amount of chances he creates is ridiculous and his passing is superb.

Come on the Chelsea!!!!!! :hooray:

Barcelona's first goal against Plzen was absolutely stunning. Messi and Iniesta combined are an unstoppable force, it's amazing.

EDIT: It's like Messi is jinxed today. He's had countless opportunities, hit the post twice, but he just won't score.

And the second goal is offside, Silva was in an offside position even know he didn't touch the ball, he still interfered it.

After watching the first 15 minutes of Madrid's second half... it became apparently obvious how boring, predictable and slow Man City is. Honestly, i hope they lose to Napoli and fail to qualify. Plus, that second goal was offside on so many levels its not even funny. Then again, United had to depend on 2 penalties to go through.

Watched some of the highlights though... the champions league got great goals. The milan one and Sneider in particular was scrumptious lol

I guess these international fans don't understand the offside rule:

All a good 2 yards onside

We played badly but won, which is something United often get praised for.

Looking forwards to the derby !

Isn't a draw in Chelsea's best interests?

If I had to pick an outright winner, it'd be Utd. But yeah, a draw would do just fine.

Revolutionary wrote:@Cityfan....I was talking about Silva, his head is part of his body isn't it? Well, his head was ahed of the defenders whole body.
Go watch Barcelona's offside goal against Madrid in the Cup match, it's almost the same....

P.S. The camera's view wasn't vertical so we can't really predict if it is offside or not.
Either way, congrats..I have nothing against City, just don't get too cocky.
This is CL, not a national League.

Nah. When Zabaleta puts the ball in Silva is 2 yards behind the ball... You cannot be offside if you are behind the ball.

The position of the last defender is irrelevant if the ball is the most forward object. Otherwise you're telling me that if it's a corner the whole defending team can go and stand on the half way line and then all the attacking team are offside :facepalm

We can account for the camera angle by using the straight line of the 6 yard line as a reference, but in any case, Silva is quite clearly behind the ball when Zabaleta puts it in.

Look at the second image.

There is no chance we're going to win the Champions League btw, so not being cocky at all. But to say the goal is offside shows a lack of understanding that is all.

LOL @ the Man City goal being offside. Miles onside.

Would love it if City raped United on Sunday. I feel both teams are overrated (with Chelsea being slightly overlooked - although weirdly the Genk result was overhyped) but I think United are more so. Defensively they've been shoddy as fuck since the Chelsea game and I think City will exploit that. Tight game, 1-1/1-2.

Great result on Sunday, nice to see the 'experts', who have put a dampender on our start by claiming we've had easy games or beeen lucky, eat their words. We were class and the better side so weirdly dissapointed with a draw in teh end. Made an idiot of myself by going ape when Shola came on before he has the game of his life - enjoyed the humble pie though. Tiote was immense, showed Parker how overrated he is.

Looking forward to the next 3 games - Wigan at home, Blackburn away in the CC and Stoke away - not sure how I'm affording all 3 but somehow I've managed to sort it all out. Gunna be horrible financially in the weeks following. Should beat Wigan - defense is shite - should beat Blackburn even with a weakened team, but I'd take a draw at Stoke - we'll have to be on top of our game for that one.

And I also want City to thrash united if they can, but if they can't, I'll settle for a draw

It's true, we are being overlooked. It's just City this, Utd that. Seriously, do they realise we're only a few points behind? Not to mention we're getting stronger each and every game. I don't think the Genk result was over hyped. They're not an amazing team but they're not awful either. 5-0 against them deserves credit. It was a fantastic game, we played beautifully.

I'm so happy Torres is beginning to show some form. He's adapting and the new additions to the squad really have helped us play much faster paced football which Torres needs.

Let's not forget about one player who played solid all game on his first full start for Chelsea. Romeu.

It's better to be overlooked anyway. Makes it all the sweeter when you prove critics wrong (see: Newcastle on Sunday).

Nice and important win at Marseille last night. Pretty dull game, but it's the result that matters. :smoking:

I've got some money on United on Sunday so I hope they'll win. It'll be a victory for both my wallet and football. Damn, I really don't like City...

But hey, at least they'll get a chance in EL!

Real Madrid went carting :p

Haha no problem. I was at the game and the first thing I did was look at the linesman because it did seem offside but in hindsight it was onside.

Seems to be a nice split in this forum between United and City for Sunday...as long as we don't lose AGAIN in the 98th minute I'll be content.

On the subject of Newcastle: seems like getting rid of the 'big' players has brought the team together. Certainly predict they will finish above Arsenal who have a complete lack of quality.

EDIT: is that Marcelo?
