Seems to be a nice split in this forum between United and City for Sunday...as long as we don't lose AGAIN in the 98th minute I'll be content.

Well, i guess i cant argue with video evidence but i was so furious Villareal failed to defend for one extra fucking minute when they had stared getting possession.

Well, seems to be a decent split and as long as the PROPER United team is deployed (dvoid of evans/carrick/unfit Vidic/ Giggs/ Valencia etc) we have a shot. Anything less than a win would depress me. United to make it 2-1.

Wow, Newcastle has one hell of an atmosphere. Watched the last 20 minutes of that game and the crowd was ROCKING. Compared with... stamford bridge on the weekend lol. Parker isnt overrted though, he's solid.--

^ I've been to the Bridge, it's not like there's no noise with no one singing lol. You also need to think of the capacity difference. More people = more noise. Granted the stadium isn't rocking but it's still a solid atmosphere.

I cant say with confidence but it has been WIDELY reported by people who were there that the weekend was quiet as a mouse. Hey, i'm not even gonna try pretend like Old Trafford isnt also more a tourist resort now (with dreams of being one of those some years later)

I can positively say that we have 2 stands that make some noise during games (The shed end & Matthew Harding stand). However the bridge is set up poorly in terms of sound travelling. You can barely hear the noise of a opposite stand even when sound is being made so it is sometimes hard to judge the noise that actually is going on.

However I stand by the fact that a good 95% of home grounds are quiet as fuck anyway and are always out sung by away fans 99% of the time. Name me a top club who does make a ton of noise each home game? There isn't one. As alluded to above they become "tourist" venue's and it hurts atmosphere incredibly. You sacrifice success for home atmosphere to a degree. I can only recall (Since RA taking over) 3 times when the stadium was rocking with every single stand making noise. It is a shame but too many people kid themselves into believing it is a Bridge problem rather than anywhere else.

I have been to the Emirates, Quiet until the last 5 mins and they where sure they had won the game

I have been to Old Trafford, Quiet until the last 5 mins being out sung by Chelsea fans even tho we played piss poor and lost 3-0

I have been to Anfield, There is a reason most away fans sing "Where's your famous atmosphere" whenever you go there, They are the quietest of the bunch these days regardless of what the score is.

In fairness to Man City I have been there a few times spaced apart each other. I had a lot of fun the first time as they where loud and offered a lot of banter, There atmosphere is on the decline tho compared to more recent visits, I can't be surprised though as they are becoming more successful hence the "tourist" thing.

Only 2 teams who are currently in the prem (Off the top of my head) have really impressed me with there home atmosphere (I have been to most grounds but not all) and they are Stoke and Newcastle.

I've been there. I haven't actually been to many stadiums though. I've been to Stamford Bridge, Upton Park and The Valley (when they were in the Premiership). I do want to go Wembley at some stage.

Home atmoshere is really shit this season. It was on the decline for a few years but the singing section, next to the away end, which came into effect a few seasons back, helped big time. They've got rid of the singing section now for a 'family area' so all the fans from there have moved to various different parts of the stadium. You need everyone who wants to stand and sing together really otherwise you ruin it for other people who like to sit and look like a cock singing alone. The stadium was rocking for the Spurs game, but the match created that, rather than the other way round.

Leeds is the best atmosphere I've seen. All the Midland's clubs that I've been to (WBA, Villa, Birmingham, Leicester) were terrible.

But you're right, most home atmospheres are pretty poor.

I'm going to Stoke away on halloween - looking forward to experience their support. As good as people say?

Tickets to the Genk game were like £40. Not too bad. I was just thinking, that would have been a fantastic game to go to lol.

Oh I misread your post, sorry mate. I thought you said you were the only one who's been to the Bridge. :facepalm2

Out of curiosity, how old are you?

And yeah, the prices are a bit ridiculous at times.

I think it's the curse of modern football grounds, rising ticket prices and stricter alcohol rules. Atmosphere in general is disappearing as home fans. It is almost always the away fans making the noise. Even at the Etihad for periods of the game the away fans are much louder. An exception would be the Arsenal fans who were as silent as church mice whenever they've been playing us. Maine Road used to be much better.

In my experiences as an away fan Liverpool was awful, literally terrible. Newcastle was good, Sunderland was poor, Villa were quite good, Bolton were shit, Blackburn was terrible, West Ham was OK, Rangers were good.

At Wembley the united fans were an embarassment to themselves and football in general. Honestly it was just :shakehead: :shakehead:

If you want to have a good time at football, go as an away fan.

Wow. As if Wolves came back! I was watching the second half, turned over to Soccer Saturday and they were like "2-1". I was thinking to myself if they came back that'd be ridiculous and they did. Well played Wolves.
