Ronaldo used to be my hero as a child.

He would have went down as the best player of all time if it hadn't been for those injuries. The speed, technique, strength and goal scoring instinct he had during his one season at Barcelona was impeccable.

That brings me back to '98, the World Cup... We were somewhere on vacation, but instead of going to the beach, there were times when the entire family just sat on the couch and watched the games .

France and Brazil were the teams I was cheering for (which made the final a bit difficult, but it was a great game)... Good times

I'd have to disagree and definitely put Messi as one of the best players ever (if not the best). I think its stupid anyway because you can't compare different eras. But you can't ignore the wee man and say he ain't as good as Ronaldo was (brazilian).

Ronaldo had his time but it was only for the peak period. He had to step down his level and go to Brazil before he retired. I like players who can play till they're 40 at a high level. That a real legend, consistently performing at a high level even though age says otherwise.
