I guess PSG is gonna be left behind again... they just came back & it looks like Monaco team is gonna top 'em again.

Except Monaco will be banned from the Champions League for spending beyond their means?

I'm not fully aware with the rule in details yet but they haven't spent shit for the last 10 years if that counts...

It's a 3 year average that counts, either beginning in 2013-2014 or maybe this season just passed was the first year in the calculation. You are not allowed to lose more than £45 million over that 3 year period. So having just spent 110 million, they have to turnover at least 60 million in profit this year and then break even for the next 2 years, spending no more money. Tall order.

I don't really understand why they brought these rules in. At least there are now 2 or 3 clubs spending more than Man City and if anyone is going to be banned it won't be us first.

So basically all teams that start the big spending at this point are gonna be in trouble....Monaco just missed the good 'ol days free spending... lol I thought they'll count the last few years too if it started from now on but I guess it doesn't matter at all.

Monaco and PSG are in some serious trouble with FFP. Platini having to ban a French club from Europe is going to be a great sight. City aren't too great either. That's the reason why City and Chelsea did a post-season tour of the US, for money. We recouped some of the cash we lost from going out of the CL group stages.

Funnily enough, Chelsea are actually in a very healthy position. We can still spend quite large and remain well within UEFA's regulations. Obviously the fact that we have one of the highest turnovers in world football is a major help. Once we get a new stadium sorted (which isn't counted as an expenditure in FFP), we'll be set for the foreseeable future (with or without Roman).

Francesco, if you want to learn more about FFP, I'd recommend reading this. It's specific to Chelsea (and a year old), but there's a lot of information regarding how FFP works in there.

One thing in Monaco's favor are some tax exceptions in that principality. PSG pays the ridiculous 75 % tax on Ibrahimovic so you can imagine how much leverage that gives them in terms of salaries and wages.

That's not true. Nothing against him, I think he is great at his work even if it didn't work in R. Madrid.

But he has such a big temper that lead him to say and act in very wrong ways sometimes. He said he was treated badly in Spain ,because he is from Portugal and that we treat bad people from Portugal. That's just stupid. Lots of portuguesse players came out to say they have no problem here.

Then many times he refused to atend the media after the games...he was not Mr friendly or an easy person to deal with.

Oh yeah Pepe said the same, that people don't like him because he is portuguese.

But he forgets that people don't like him because he is a dirty player, hope you understand what I mean. Always at the limit of what is allowed. Remember his aggresion to Casquero?

It's easy to say people don't like you because you are portuguese. Easy excuse.

Figo was portuguese , people loved him. People love Cristiano too.

Rumours going around that Jose will be unveiled as the Chelsea manager on Sunday or Monday. If it really does happen, it's going to be an emotional return..

I doubt he'll reach the same level of success this time around, but I'm certain he'll forge us into a stronger team. His tactical ability is world class, I really can't wait to see what happens.

Still not going to assume he's here until it's confirmed. We all know what happened with Robinho.. lmao.

I hope that is not true. I've seen the rumours, but there is no certain thing yet. If Barca do let him go though, I agree they are idiots. He is a young talent and can be something great, he is/was supposed to take over Xavi, who is now older and not as good as before.

Barca should rather sell Fabregas and... it hurts to say this... David Villa. They are not good enough for the team anymore. Fab never was, and Villa just never became the same after his injury.

Barca are letting Abidal go, though. They have offered him a position in the club, though (not as a player). I don't know what position.

EDIT: Also, Valdes is rumoured to be in talks with Monaco.

Real Madrid's transfer strategy is a joke. Should have won about 5 Champions Leagues in the past decade with that money spent.

Did Kaka lose his pace before or after he joined RM? I can't remember.

Is Kaka regarded as a huge flop amongst RM fans?
