Every time I'm in a debate about this with friends or family, I know Ali is better but for some reason I just think Tyson would win. I don't know why. You should make this a poll.

Tyson was never technical, he was all about power and aggression.

Technique > Power.

Bullshit. Tyson was extremely technical. This "Tyson was just a brute" myth is just that...a myth. He had excellent defense and it was his combinations that did the damage.

Ali was the one who wasn't technical. He didn't even defend...his dancing/Ali shuffle was his defense. In terms of actual boxing skill, Tyson was worlds better. Of course, that doesn't mean he'd win.

So his loss to Buster Douglas in 1990 was the first fight of his career where he was not in his prime? His prime was his debut up until his last fight in the 80's in 89? Come on, man.

Tyson split with Kevin Rooney in 1989 (after the Spinks fight) and went downhill immediately. It wasn't that he was past his prime physically, it was that he was poorly trained. The head movement that made him so lethal was all but gone. He was incredibly sloppy against Frank Bruno, despite the win, and he was knocked down in practice by Greg Page before the Douglas fight.

80s Tyson wasn't a brawler. George Foreman was a brawler. Tyson was a technician.

Ali was unorthodox and technically did everything wrong in the ring, but he made it work for him.

u cant compare it imo .
The boxers in the 80s and 90s were Monsters in comparison to the 60s and 70s

Both in their prime :

I think Tyson would win he was a Beast in the Ring . I love watching his KO compilations he was a Monster :worship:
,but Ali was maybe the best Boxer of all Time his Technique and endurance was unique .
Especially for the period back in the early 70s
