opinion about brian dawkins

I don't know what his contract is for this year, and what it might be for the future, if he's with the broncos past this year, but looking at past examples, as the big Eagles fan that I am, Hugh Douglas left for Jacksonville and came back, Jeremiah Trotter was a Redskin & a Buccaneer briefly, and came back, and I'm sure their are other examples recently, but those are the big ones that stand out, I think Dawkins will definitely either play another year or two here after Denver this year, or play with Denver this year and maybe next, depending on his contract situation, and most definitely retire an Eagle, and have his jersey ultimately retired and on the wall of fame as well. One thing Eagles management doesn't do is sever ties with former players. it's once an eagle, always an eagle. what do you think? and does anybody have the figures on dawkins current contract this year too? Thanks.

Better start praying he gets traded back to them lol

damn, 5 years. i don't think he is playing 5 more years. i think he has maybe a year or two left, 3 at the most, but the 3 year he would have to do not much. he would have to be, and settle for a backup position cause not only wouldn't he be an asset to the team, but he would be horrible. he was pretty bad last year, but the late great Jimmy Johnson fit him into packages he was used to, and could do great with. I was surprised at first, that he was doing well, in general, but also in a new setting in Denver this year, even though he's injured now, but I'm not. Going to a new team, even though he is a Bird for life, somehow light's a fire under your ass, and I'm glad that he's doing well. Well I hope he either steps out of the contract early, or just accepts a 1-day contract with an Eagle like Randall Cunningham did, and ultimately retire an Eagle. thanks for the facts Chet.
