Official Football Pre-Season Thread 10/11

Postby MikeNUFC » Jul 13th, '10, 22:26

So only a month or so 'til the new season(s) start throughout football.

I assume everyone is buzzing for it. Should be fucking great.

Just a place to discuss predictions, transfers, pre-season friendlies and anything else 10/11 season related.

Bring it on mo'fuckers!

:b:

My predictions:
-Premier League: Man United followed by Chelsea, then Arsenal. Man City to get the last Champions League Spot
-Relegation: WBA, Blackpool and Wigan
-FA Cup: Arsenal
-Carling Cup: Liverpool
-Champions League: Chelsea (its their time)
-Uefa Cup: Couldnt give a fuck. I'll shout out a random team - CSKA Moscow
-La Liga: Barca
-Bundesliga: Wolfsburg
-Serie A: Inter

Team of stars doesnt usually work but I dunno, Liverpool will flop under Hodgson - bad appointment. And Spurs will struggle with having the Champs League as well. I dont really see much alternative to 4th

Really man? I'm a United fan, I can't stand Liverpool... but I think Hodgson is a fantastic appointment for them. Wealth of experience, organised, won't waste their VERY limited funds, and wants to buy English which is nice to see.
I'm not so good with the advice... Can I interest you in a sarcastic comment?

Hodgson is WORLD CLASS manager, dont get me wrong. But I really don't think he'll work at Liverpool. I know it's cliched but it's so different working at a "bigger club" like Liverpool.

Of course, I dont really know, just what I think.

On Champions League thing, I believe Chelsea are due some luck. Something always seems to happen - Luis Garcia's "goal", Terry's pen miss, terrible ref against Barca etc - but I think they'll do it this year.

Of course, let's be serious Newcastle will win the Prem this year, no doubt. :b:

He has always said that chelsea is his fav team and that drogba is his idol

His school even had a school trip to Stamford Bridge

and rumours has it that Drogba got Lukaku's number from Vincent Kompany so he could talk to him about joining chelsea
Everything points that when Lukaku leaves Anderlecht, his only destination will be Stamford Bridge

I wouldn't say 100%, but it's possible for him to join. And I don't think Drogba really talked to him.
