A Little Photoshop Help

I'm new to the hole learning curve with Photoshop, and i can safley say i know compltley nothing about it....

but i wanted to go ahead and attempt my own sig.

but i need help in using photoshop.

first thing i would like to know is i want to grab a picture of a person (lets say obie in this matter) but hes on a wallpaper with a background and shit. how do i go about taking him off there and just putting obie onto a blank canvas....or another background of my choosing.

hope i've explained it enough to warrant some help from someone.

photoshops not as easy as it looks is it?
u use the pen tool to cut
click around the whole picture.. then right click>make selection > ok
Ctrl C + V
if that makes anysense.. if not.. google photoshop cutting tutorial

lol your right, its not as easy as it looks.........


also it didnt really make that much sense to me lol......all i got were black blobs over the page everytime i dragged the pen and wen i Ctrl C and V all i do is paste a screnshot i took earlier in the day lol
