What kind of graphic design? I usually go to sites like http://siteinspire.net to get inspiration.

I use Photoshop and Illustrator. You gotta be dedicated and you gotta have some an eye for design (placing, lightning etc). You gotta start at 0 and it takes some time before you become good, i suggest you use tutorials on sites like http://www.gamerenders.com to get a start.

You'll need a lot of patience.I like to play with pictures and stuff,but i get bored quite easily .Also if u browse youtube you will find plenty of tutorials and even tips on how to get free photoshop,fireworks etc

You gotta be creative. Start doing design with pen & paper, then start using really basic stuff like Paint, then move to Photoshop. As crazy as it sounds, I started doing designs using Paint and Microsoft Power Point lol.
