I agree it shouldn't be placed on a pedestal, but I assume it used to be allowed on here and then they changed the rules. I assume it just got annoying having 14 year old white kids from the burbs dropping it constantly. I don't think it's banned on some deep moral grounds, it's probably so we don't see it constantly. Plus it's probably the source of lots of arguments as it can be used both unoffensively and offensively, and it's hard to tell who's "allowed" to use it. Like, if any of us call someone a spic it's 100% not okay but the N word is a gray area.
