Suggestion regarding Download Central

It seems that we no longer have our Download Section, ever since SOPA & PIPA came into existence. Brave move, and I support it. But, that's because it was visible to the people viewing this site, right? Even if it required Login (and a certain amount of post count to access), it still posed a problem.

So, what If we make invincible, and only visible to members in their "User Control Panel", like in the form of a Tab. It could go with IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS that appears when we open our "UPC". Post Count thing can be sort out, either allow it or keep it like Backstage. The ADMINS should also have the power to grant access to this section based on the new members activities, if found suspicious, no access. That member won't even know that such a section existed.

Think about it, TR. Just a thought.

I know that, rabbit. But' there are things that are not easily found searching on the Internet. And DC wasn't removed just because it's 2012, right? DC was a section here for the sake of convenience, so that you need not search for certain things that are easily available. I remember Unscarred upping some epic Movies, Games and TV Shows in there, that makes it even more dope. Now, you would say that anything is available via torrents, but that does not abolish DC's importance. If getting everything was that easy, then why did we have the section in the 1st place? It's just a matter of sharing, that's it.

It's convenient but there's no point of trying to cheat the system. I'm sure TR feels much more comfortable knowing this site isn't participating in anything illegal. If we need to download something, we can take the time out to do it ourselves, rather than him possibly (very unlikely) catching flak for it. It's just not that big of a deal to put it back at the risk.

Even when DC existed, people used to post those "Legal dl links" in a new thread, prompting discussions.

Well, you do have a point there. But I still stand with my not-so-practical suggestion.

Not a terrible idea, but I dunno. I agree with Solace, it's gotta be much easier for TR to know that in that regard, nothing illegal is happening. But at the same time, legal downloads promoted by the artist themselves should be allowed, I believe. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that.

Tbh no one really goes outside the Eminem section anymore so these things would be kinda pointless...

I suggest we just remove every other section (except Backstage) and just have the main Shady section.
