Time For A New Banner?

I think we really need a new one. BME Era is over, time to move on. I was having a discussion regarding something with Eazy-E, and this thread stems from that conversation.

Any graphic Artist who is interested can post there work here. The best will be chosen by the members and the Mod staff.

Agreed. Here's just a first look kind of thing, I thought maybe someone who does better with fonts can write "trshady" as "8 Mile" is written on the movie poster. Or if nothing else, use this Em picture for their version (like mix it in with a different background or something).

100% agree with you on this but I just don't see it happening any time soon, sadly.

As for a new banner; I made some simple edits to this one, a banner Sam requested for his Facebook the other day. Not final or anything at all, really. Was just getting used to creating banners this size again.

Suggestions would be nice, and maybe some recent Em pictures would be good. I honestly don't follow much of his music at this point, his magazine appearances, ect. Would be appreciated.

BUT, the banner wouldn't just work with the site's background color at all. Not saying your banner's ugly - it's really good - it's just that unless we were able to make the background a much more lighter color, I don't see it working well.

The funny thing is, our current banner really compliments the background. It just got really old and boring. BME era is over.

Starting to feel the same way. At least then we'd possibly have a name/theme/album art to work with for a new banner.

We may not get a new one until the cover design for his next album is released in 4-5 (?) months time.

A banner change is something I'm always open too - anything I'm presented with, I'll add if the community prefere it. I'm also working with SajN to give him server access, where he'll be able to carry out changes that have previously not been possible. As for a graphical update, I've spoken to a designer or two, but it's a project that requires close collaboration with myself who'll be implementing the design. I've emailed a designer buddy again now, I'ma to ask him to mock up an incremental update to bring the design into 2013 - I'll then post it here, if it's favoured, I'll have it happen. Will hopefully have something posted here in the next two weeks.
