Why are there so many spammers and why do they do it

Do they get money everytime someone views their shit or something

It seems they are coming in by the truckload is it because christmas is coming?

I just thought of something...not sure if it'll really work. You know on most sites when u register it shows an image w/ letters and u have to type the letters to prove ur human. Supposedly the sites say this is to stop spamming bots from registering and posting. If trshady incorporated that here, wouldn't that stop the bots???? Not sure how easy/hard it would be to implement or if it'd work.
