If you're careful on the internet, you never need an Anti Virus, I haven't got a virus myself in the last 3 years, although I do have an AV program cause you never know. ;)

Check out AVG Anti-Virus free edition if you haven't already
Other if you know where those free online 'shops' are try Nod32

using alternative browsers might also help you, as well as using antispyware programs. Try http://www.softpedia.com, a very great site with all sorts of programs
