it means u r on windows service pack 1 unlike before where u were on windows service pack 2. i wud reccommend upgrading because it sorts out loadza security issues xp has. wen u upgrade itl turn back to blu squares

or u can just use windows update by opening internet exporer den goin 2 tools and den windows update
