CPU Temperature Monitoring

Postby Elision » Feb 8th, '11, 16:40

So I've managed to overclock my i7 980x to just under 4.5GHz with the ASUS Rampage III, and before I try to cross the 4.5 mark, I'd like to be able to monitor my CPU temperature (and possibly motherboard temperate as well) without actually having to get into my BIOS.

Is there a fan controller with a display maybe? I'm currently using the NZXT Sentry LX to monitor general temperatures, but it doesn't allow direct CPU monitoring.

Anyway, any help would be greatly appreciated :flower:

So you want a program that also changes speeds of the fans as well as displaying temps? Or mainly just something displaying temps?

Something that does both I believe.. Long as your Mobo/CPU works with it.

No, I already have a fan controller (the NZXT Sentry LX that I mentioned above).

What I'm looking for is a physical CPU thermometer. Overclocking is done from the BIOS before you boot up. A program like you linked isn't going to do anything but take up SATA Drive space until you leave the BIOS and boot up (and no need for a program anyway, ASUS mobo's come with a layover-on-keypress function for core temps).

I'll look around. I'm pretty sure I had a program that monitored the temp of the CPU/RAM back when I was overclocking.
